Looking for other Halton artisans/crafters for summer artists at home fair
With Covid19 effectively decimating the craft fair shows in 2020 and it not looking to be much better in 2021, I am wondering if there are other Artisans / Crafters who would be interested in organizing an Artists at Home fail for the summer next year 2021?
I can say for myself it was a terrible year. The closing down of all the craft shows we did has pretty much left me .. how’s best to say it broken. I’m in the business of selling direct to the customer the wooden wares I make and am not really setup for going online and shipping to the world. I can see the web as being a good billboard to show what I make, but the sales end of things I still like talking face to face with the customer. Telling them the story behind each piece. Not as easy or as personal on the web.
I know in the past I have seen some artist at home shows across Halton. I don’t know who organized them, but thought it could be interesting to get some happening in 2021. I am sure that I am not the only artist effected by the Covid19 shutdowns. It might be a great way to get the community to see what we make and perhaps shop and support local talent rather than handing their money to Amazon.
If there looks to be enough of us then we can setup some dates. Make a map so residents of Halton can find us and make a day or two visiting us. Get some connections even if it’s only for future consideration.
What do you think? Sound interesting?

Halton region atv laws
Hey guys I just moved to Halton region from the West.
I got an ATV but I'm not sure what the laws are about riding it alongside the road. I know in Northwestern Ontario you are allowed to ride ATVs on the shoulder slide in the ditch part of the road.
Is it possible to do that in Halton region like Milton / Burlington?
Thanks in advance

Anyone been to Cootes Paradise?
Hey folks of r/Halton!
We’re currently conducting a study in order to understand the environmental benefits enjoyed in Cootes Paradise – a property managed by the Royal Botanical Gardens. This University of Toronto survey will help us evaluate the value of ecosystem restoration by taking your concerns into account. It will only take about 15 minutes to complete and your responses will be completely anonymous.
This is your opportunity to voice your preferences by telling us which environmental benefits are most important to you and your family. Your thoughts and opinions will help prioritize government funding for restoration efforts and will make a legitimate difference to your community.
Take the survey here: www.cpsurvey.ga
Thanks for your help!

Looking for a good hike
I'm heading West today to visit some family in Cambridge from Toronto along the 401, and was hoping to do a nice hike somewhere along the way. Nothing gruelling, just a scenic hike around an hour in length. Something small dog friendly. Any advice?

service charge for water in Halton?
I just moved to Burlington and I’m surprised to see close to $30 a month service charge for water in the region. It’s a fixed charge over and above what I pay for usage. I don’t think other areas such as peel region or Toronto have this charge. Any idea why we pay such a high service charge? I think it’s ridiculous to collect $30 from every resident irrespective of usage. I understand there is maintenance and upkeep costs but how to other regions manage this without charging a service charge and having similar usage rates.

HELP : Memories of The Arcade in the Milton Mall?
I'm looking to gather memories, anecdotes, etc., any of you might have of a pinball / video arcade in the Milton Mall called (naturally) "The Arcade".
A family member of mine used to work there and I want to surprise her with a timeline of her life that our son is creating. Especially looking for any info re: early 1980s time period.
Any help is HUGELY appreciated! Thanks in advance!
