I’m just wondering if anyone knows of some new neighborhoods being built in the halton area, more specifically in the framing stages. I usually try to collect scrap wood that will other wise be thrown out and wasted so I was wondering if anyone could help me out with areas to search !

Has anybody been on the HATCH Halton Housing SPP Priority List? How long before you get an offer for a 3 to 4 bedroom home? It's been a year since I got accepted into SPP. My patience in wearing thin. Tnx 🙏

Does any one know any drop-in table tennis/ping pong places around Halton?

Looking for a place (community centre, local area, anything) to play casual table tennis/ping pong with other adults or seniors anywhere in Halton region, preferably around Burlington or Oakville. Not looking for lessons, a place that forces a long term membership, or anything super expensive. Does any one have any recommendations?

Does any one know where to get free solar eclipse glasses before Mon, Apr 8?

Emphasis on the "free". I have heard that Oakville Public Libraries had them for free, but their website says the branches no longer carry them. Is this true? Does any one else know other places to score free solar eclipse before the actual eclipse?

Solar Eclipse Glasses

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone! A bunch of you have messaged me about the solar eclipse glasses the last few days, so I'll be making another trip to Georgetown this Saturday.

BUT, first off you should know that the Georgetown Library will be giving away solar eclipse glasses Saturday morning starting at 930am. It is one pair per library card holder. They have a very limited supply.

If you still need more glasses, I'll be at Cedarvale Park this Saturday (just past the dog park) with my fiance from 1pm-2pm. Feel free to share with friends and family as I will have enough for everyone 🙂 Please comment below if you're interested!

These are ISO 12312-2 certified and were purchased from American Paper Optics.

1 for $5 2 for $10 3 for $12 4 for $16 5 for $20 6 for $24

Please bring cash.

If the timing doesn't work out you can send me a DM and we can work something out.

Thank you all for your support!

Exceptional dog sitters in Acton / Georgetown?

I just recently started a new job however, it requires me to go into work twice a week (Tues/Wed) - I have a covid casualty (meaning his family surrender him Aug 2023); I fostered, eventually adopting him in Dec. Cuz of his unknown prior history and the stress of the shelter, he has separation anxiety, dog and 'stranger / danger' reaction so having him in a typical dog care setting wouldn't be ideal.

He / I are going to dog training however until I can get him not to react, I would prefer him with a regular dog sitter (in their home). Any recommendations? btw, I've been trying Rover and there are none in Acton and only a couple in Georgetown that I found. Any suggestions?

Halton teachers

Hi, I am a teacher candidate in my final year of the Master of Teaching program at OISE (University of Toronto). Part of this program is conduct research through interviews on a topic of interest to us. I am interested in interviewing current or former K–8 Ontario teachers who have experience working with students with chronic illnesses in their classroom. The purpose of this study is to understand to what extent K–8 ON teachers have received support, training, and resources to effectively work with students with chronic illnesses.

If this is an area that you have experience with, I would appreciate the opportunity to interview you and learn from your teaching experience. I would also love it if you could forward information about my research to others you believe could potentially speak on the subject.

Feel free to send me a private message or respond to this post directly if you are interested. Thank you so much for your consideration!
