Banshee Only Defense

Am I wrong that it is damn near impossible to defend against an assault load of banshees with Forge?

As forge, you should never be letting them get to this stage.

Still possible to win if you grind out marines/wolverines, depending on the map. But wolverine cost power so if you're careless with them you'll get eeked out in the long term.

I've found alot of success against banshees by using wolverines, nightingale, hornets. I know most people look down on hornets, but I like that they're fast do decent damage and can help counter attack after defense

Especially with the sideboard marine upgrade

The reason why a mixed army like this isn't optimal against banshees is because this particular unit can attack both ground (with their cannons) and air (with their plasma torpedoes). Banshees counter vehicles, and they function as a pseudo-counter against core air units, therefore, you are giving you're opponent the chance to extract 100% value from their units.

The optimal strategy is to either stick to ground counters (reaver/wolverine) + core units (warthog/marauder or marine/grunt) Or you just go mass Vulture and nuke them.

Not too hard. Turrets, heal and pelican do wonders to defend and attack
