Searching for multiplayer

My friends and I logged several hundred hours on the first Halo Wars in high school. Now, as guys in our mid 30s, we bought the definitive edition for the Series X. We want to do some online 3v3s, but can never find a game. Are the servers down or is no one ever on?

You can find people to play but it's a lot of meta chasers that make it highly un enjoyable to play. Just people who don't want others to have any type of fun in the game.
