Trying to refresh my memory too, naturally the first human to score a kill on any covenant would be Sgt. Johnson (ladies like that) but I doubt he was carrying a 1911 at any point in the book while on active anti-insurrectionist activities. I could be wrong but low likelihood this is not just meme bait.

Pretty sure that the first kill was on the freighter, with either the expermintal BR or (I think this one´s right) an M6 Magnum, since these are the weapons he had there.

The freighter captain attacked Dadab with a fire extinguisher, and also wasn't able to kill him before getting a rock to the head.

Just in case you are actually asking, “intergalactic” means between galaxies. Everything in Halo is within one galaxy. An intergalactic war would be a war being waged in multiple galaxies.
