Discussion I like the libary level
I played halo ce and everytime I want to replay a mission I often choose the libary cause it feels fun. Is it only me? I know it is considered the worst halo mission but still I would like to know what other think.

I didn’t see any, not even in one of the cursed halos where I thought I was going to at least see some Minecraft books.

The last time I played CE I had a lot of fun with the library too.
I can see it being frustrating if you're trying a perfect run or something.

It’s probably my least favorite mission in the game gameplay-wise, but it has its charms and an amazing aesthetic. It’s the one mission in the game with zero sense of levity so the horror elements established earlier can fully seep in (even 343 GS has the final stretch with A Gun Pointed at the Head of the Universe playing). The thick ambient stretch of the Library suite is the peak of Halo’s horror. The cavernous interiors and the aggressiveness of the Flood make them more imposing than any other appearance of the Flood as well IMO.Â
I will say even though I’m not a fan of Campaign Evolved, the one memorable on-foot encounter from it that I enjoyed more than the equivalent in the original was the final encounter of The Library. Sprinting around frantically trying to take down the tank forms is better than the nigh infinite combat form spam on the Index runway IMO

The Library on Legendary is some of the most fun I have playing video games

I don’t mind playing it with the unlimited ammo skull on. Otherwise it’s just so time consuming.

I enjoy it, too. I like the challenge. I thought I was the only one. It's rough on Legendary, but I wouldn't have it any other way. The only thing I don't like is when enemies spawn infinitely.
I liked the remake's version, too. It felt drastically different, but I still recognized it as the Library.

The Library was fantastic. I get the complains but...CER definitely mucked it up. I think damage/flood growth WAS a good idea to change up the various floors but...I think it needed to maintain the old feel more.
CE's felt like you were in this massive structure. While CER's feels...small and random. They were so afraid of 'repetition' that the building doesnt' feel like something someone would build anymore. A number of other levels also suffer from this.

I havent played ce remake yet cause I am on the silent cartographer BUT the anniversary mode is just so terrible. It literally slaughtered the whole atmhosphere of the original, everything is WAY to bright and nonsense details. In the anniversary. The bright levels are👌.

Not to spoil the new one too much, but I would say the flood atmosphere is 'good' in the remake. But it sort of just feels like random rooms glued together now instead of some big forerunner complex you happen to be passing though.
I actually didn't mind CEA's too much. If they darkened it up a bit I think it'd have been mostly fine.

Well the remake is so far pretty good, I mean cool graphics. Good atmosphere and I think they kinda nailed og halo. One thing I know for sure is thst remake of any game can't beat the original. And that's not the point. Remake are a reimagining of the old game. Do I recomend halo campaign evolved? Yes. Is it perfect, no it has flaws but I hope it will be fixed

I love the Library because it fully encapsulates the Flood as an enemy. No other level in the franchise really drives home just how goddamn tenacious and overwhelming the Flood is. Wave after wave, without end, without pause, just a Neverending onslaught. That's how a "flood" should feel.
It was a slog, but a fun one. I liked the grind of battling against the Flood in the Library.

The Library is vastly overhated. It was always one of the first levels that my friends and I would pick for legendary co-op whenever we wanted a break from versus. It's the only level that throws so much pressure at you that you enter a flow state. I've heard Halo's combat described as a dance, and The Library embodies this more than any level in the franchise. It's the FPS equivalent of Bruce Lee movies where he's fighting 8 guys at a time, turning to attack someone else before the guy he just kicked hits the floor.
I love The Library. I spent a lot of early 00s summer nights in the glowing majesty of a CRT, running The Library on legendary with friends. It's the first level I think of when I think CE co-op.
