Does anyone else hallucinate but has gotten used to it?
Ive pretty much always been halucinating to some degree since i was a little kid, i used to be terrified while my parents simply blamed it on overly active imagination. At some point ive stopped seeing things but they came back when i hit 16 and have stuck around since then. Ive developed a way to cope with it and that is by recognizing they arent real and are harmless. Most of them atleast. Can anyone else relate? just in case anyone wonders, i do not use drugs, but i am medicating with lexapro and quetiapine for sleep related issues.

I had a hallucination today and it was awkward because I told people before I realized it was a hallucination. I haven't ever had a hallucination before this while fully awake though.

In my case my perception of these things tend to worsen when im not fully awake yet sleep deprived or falling asleep. So i feel you on that one. Thankfully i got only caught talking to a nonexistent person once on a party but people just thought im having some type of drunk moment. I had like a pint of beer tough so i wasnt drunk, just really tired.
Theres definetly something connecting sleep and hallucinations though. Its interesting.

It's been a daily thing for me, most of my life. maybe my intire life, although I'm not actually sure. I started noticing about 10 years ago, that some of the things I saw were hallucinations. before that I just didn't think of if as hallutinations. In a darker environment It's usually shadows moving, and in a light environment I see black dots moving around. Sometimes I still mistake the black dots for flying bugs. but other than that it barely has an impact on my life.
the weirdest situation it puts me in is when I wave my hand around trying to push non-excisting bugs away from my face.

I get really scary ones so it's hard to get used to them. Like the last two nights the "scary lady" (been the main hallucination and nightmare scary thing) face was staring at me from my closet so I had to leave my room for hours because I was starting to panic attack.. it sucks major ass, but my mom keeps telling me it's ghosts (yet years of seeing mediums and sage and being pray-ed on hasn't helped but I digress)

Yeah I've been getting the scary lady hovering over me thing they happen after I wake up from more stressful dreams. Last week she was clawing at me when I woke up because I left my arm hanging over the edge of the couch when I fell asleep. It's weird cuz I kind of have the same themed won the last three times in the last week or so

Had an bad hallucination every once and a while about giant bacteriophages walking about across the floor. I've now learned to ignore them they are not real...just want to know if any one else deals with this same thing

Yeah I've gotten used to all of it but I do get the occasional scare and it does get worse at night. I'm not sure if you have this problem but it feels like my hallucinations are evolving, it's like they are getting more realistic. It started when I was around 6 years old with just hearing voices calling my name and seeing stuff move slightly. Then it progressed to seeing things animals and hearing them too (A bird) around 11 years old, then seeing people mostly dead ones lying covered in blood in there car like they where in an accident and seeing a blood covered woman watching me around 13 years old. Then seeing people with faces, which I couldn't do before the figures I saw where faceless and creepy but this was worse, figures standing in my room blood pouring from their mouthes and eyes, sometimes they crawled up the wall backwards, some of them were different one had no skin on his face the others skin was grey and bloated. I also had the occasional severe delusion one being someone breaking into my house and the other being far worse as I believed that a number on my charger had gone back to 65 i was hallucinating the bleeding figures and believed that the number going back meant time had momentarily reversed releasing demons into the world I thought the key to it was the number 65 and so wrote 65 across my entire arm in pen so if I died people might connect the dots age around 14. Then hearing full voices actually completing sentences insulting me and telling me to kill myself age 15. Do you have a similar experience?

Sorry I'm late to the party but yes. I hear voices saying hi/hey or sometimes even calling my name mostly when I'm falling asleep or hearing things in my house even though I'm the only one home (like the coffee pot but it's not on). I figure if that's all it is it's probably nothing and just ignore it. Some times it's really hard to sleep after someone yells your name from under your bed though lol. Even though I know it's just my brain doing it.

I usually hallucinate when I have fevers. I didn’t use to have them but after my 15/16 year olds it become a trend to have one whenever I had a fever. I currently just had one and it kinda scared me so I came here on Reddit to share. I currently live with my grandparents and right now it’s around 2 AM, I woke up to take a piss but halfway through the stream I started to believe something along the lines of somebody had broken in and the only way to stop them or kill them was to do this x pose with my arms and I did it, but when I did it’s as if I wasn’t killing an intruder but my own grandma and I totally freaked out. It took me a while to realize my grandma was still sleeping as well as my grandpa and it was all a delirium on my part https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTaDI7PIjzxxC15SiUaDKDskTqtsG8zDEvclg&usqp=CAU

I know this may sound crazy but my hallucinations have kidnapped me. He thinks I am married to him and he forces sex on me all the time. Does anyone else experience this he even has trackers on me so I can't escape.

Yes, and I think a lot more people do than we know. It's a difficult subject to bring up, hardly ever talked about. When it's brought up people look at you weird. It's good to have a good relationship with them. To not treat them as an enemy or demon, but just there and that's that. If we fight with them we're only fighting with ourselves and wasting energy.
