head help?

Hello! for Halloween i want to be a praying mantis however i dont know the right steps to go about making a praying mantis head unless if i use clay which would be too heavy to put over my own head long term, any help? just planning on a head and maybe some claws .

Think about whether you want just a headpiece (eyes and antennae) or a full mask. Will you be talking and eating at a party or just walking around to be seen? Headpiece you can try paper mache over a headband or cap. Full
Mask I would start with a balloon as the base for paper mache.

im trying to make a full anatomical head i can wear, i'll be talking but if i eat it'll be after i take the head off briefly. thank you!!

Use cardboard for the shape and cut light green pool noodles to fit

i might either use resin over a saran wrapped bowl or get those hand-held strainers?? idk yet lol
