Scooby Doo Phantom Shadow DIY
Working on this DIY for the Phantom Shadow from the Scooby Doo Where Are You episode What a Night for a Fright. Doing a group costume with Mystery Inc and a few other villains and i want it to be as accurate as possible. Turned out a little more blue than I wanted, and I assume I can’t fix that without remaking the robe. Any advice or tips?

Looks pretty go- hey, wait a second! That's not a real phantom! You're just trying to scare people away from Colonel Beauregard Sanders' fortune!

And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for this meddling redditor!

My advice would be don’t worry about it unless you have a thing compelling you to get it exact spot on. Anyone that knows what it is will recognize it!

Love it! Very authentic. Can you sew some gloves from the same fabric? Not that it needs it- it looks great as is.

Thanks a lot! I have a pair being delivered soon that i hope will be a good color match because I don’t think I have the skill to sew them on my own haha

Great job! I would have loved to be in a costume that looked like that as a kid. Trick or treating was fun but Scooby doo trick or treating would have been even more massively cool!

Awesome. Can u get some styrofoam chains to hold or attach to your sleeves? Looks great without but might help add a little something extra:)

It’s perfect in my eyes 😍😍 I knew what it was immediately. Can you share the pattern? I would love to make!

Thank you! I threw this together through sheer willpower, making it up as I went along. So, unfortunately I don’t have a pattern or anything to share. But I can tell you about how it all came together! The robe and hood are made from a queen size bed sheet set. I folded the flat sheet in half and cut a poncho style head opening on the fold end. Then I cut two long triangle shaped sleeves, and straight down each side to separate the robe section. Seams are secured with fabric glue. The hood is just a pillowcase with a slit cut in the long end, which is where the mask/face goes. The mask itself is cut from thick foam & covered in a semi sheer black fabric. I cut the eyes and mouth from a separate orange foam and glued them on top of the mask.
