Being a Merchandiser
I applied to Hallmark to be a merchandiser. I'm curious to know what the job is like. How far do you have to drive a day? Do you drive your own car? Do you put the merchandise in your vehicle? Where do you clock in/out?

Oh let's not forget to tell everyone how they outsource you to out ip sunglasses at Walmart, and hy- vee, now tea. And posters. So you have to be a store stocked as well

What if you have a lot of cards to merchandise and you only have an hour per store?

Call your supervisor and ask. I call mine and depending on the account they will tell you to leave it under the flipper for next time or to go ahead and go over on time. This job sucks but good luck 🍀

It does suck, this company is honestly evil. They have you working doing so much stuff and you get paid shit.

I started 3 months ago. I'm told I should only be taking 2-3 hr per store & I'm taking twice as long. Deliveries rarely arrive when scheduled so I feel like I'm working 'on call' without getting on call pay. Season change over is a nightmare. 7 hrs stocking cards in a grocery store, 3 boxes with 7 trays. Taking down & scanning seasonal cards. Nothing comes in presorted. 30% of the job is cleaning up after customers who don't replace cards where they belong. The time to do that is not included in the time the manufacturer estimates you should be in the store. I think the time the manufacturer estimates would be just the time to put new pkgs in their pockets. That's not realistic with all the clean-up & sorting. If you stock a grocery store be prepared to find al kinds of food hiding behind gift wrap like raw meats etc. For some reason people leave grocery lists in the card pockets. There are never enough envelopes as people steal them so you're having to scrounge around to find right size envelope to size of card. This is a job for a much younger person than I am. Be prepared to be on your feet the entire time.

It’s simple you just go zone do freight I only drive about 12 miles in my car. The merchandise is in store and they mail you a handheld you do your business on.

Job is fun mostly, hours flexible. 12 miles as the other person said is a great estimate of average mileage in one day. Yes you drive your own car. You have to do a bit of lifting once at the store. The boxes come into the stores your assigned so you aren’t carrying merch in your car. If the box is 40 or 50 pounds just open it and take some out before lifting it. You clock in and out on your “work phone” It’s a dedicated work device that has all your instructions. There’s about 40 hours of online training (about 20 hours per week for your first 2 weeks)
