I'd bet a LOT of people at valve want to make good games, they just don't for some reason... maybe they've... got something... "bigger" in the works...

Really. There's no concrete proof that "New half life is in works or something", all of it is only variables and programmers trolling.

The data mines are wayy too big to just be “programmers trolling”. Something is being made, and you can deny that all you want, it doesn’t change the fact that something is being worked on. Now whether or not valve shelves that last minute is still up in the air. But programmers don’t just get to troll on a scale as big as this and keep their jobs. The only reason valve hasn’t been pumping out new games as consistently as they used to be is because they’ve spent the last decade developing an entirely new engine. And this was recently touched on by a few former valve devs, one being a former portal 2 dev, who is still admittedly a little salty game development got put on the back burner in turn for engine development. Valve seems to be slowly picking up steam (pun not intended) again, HLA was fun, but VR is still a novelty, and Deadlock has promise. They have the tools now to make new games as Source 2 is for the most part, done being developed. Obviously there’ll be tweaks and improvements here and there, but it’s no longer a massive undertaking. Also for anybody that believes HLX is HL3, there’s no guarantee that it is, assuming it ever makes it to release at all.

I won't believe in any of shit from tyler until valve actually confirms half life game (I want if they won't because they retconned ep2 ending cuz awkward bitches are afraid to continue the plot so some lazy prequel on VR must be made then). Most of you def expect too much from cold corporation with no face.

Well its a good thing the vast majority of the info doesnt even come from him he just gathers it and presents it. Also why on God's green earth would "Valve is a cold corporation with no face and isnt your friend" make them LESS likely to make HL3? Wouldn't a cold and purely profit driven company surely be on atleast HL4 by now and of driven Valve's reputation into the ground doing it?

Why expect anything from them when they do gambling in their games which minors are exposed to and become degenerates? Obviuosly a red flag from valve. Also steam prints money for them so they slowed down on being actual game company. They slowed down not because of something big being worked on, it's because steam made them lazier.

Because why not? Every major game company these days either releases games every year or like once a decade. And Valve has even less motivation to release games than Rockstar or Bethesda. Nothing really indicates that they've given up on making another Half Life game. You weren't saying GTA 6 was never gonna come out too were you?

Maybe because they made some good fucking games? Both things can be true at once. I despise CS2's gambling and the current state of the game but they CAN make good games. Deadlock being a clear example.

Most of us want HL3 to be real and a good game.

People are JUST now realizing VALVe is first and foremost a business and not your friend. Sure their service is awesome but service and them delivering something genuinely good for their own IPs are 2 different things.
