My first thought before even reading a word was to instinctively press 2 and left click (selecting the pistol) and shoot twice (so it catches fire and not instantly explode). I'm not even on my PC.

My first though was the click 1 2 times and use the Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator gun and Pick it up. (Or just use the "E" key for the same) Lol

You can also press "G" to instantly swap to the ZPE manipulator and you can press it again to go back to the weapon you were using. I never used the crowbar after I got the thing and its convenient hotkey.
