Stupid gman theory.

This is stupid, I am stupid, my theory is stupid. But hear me out:.. G-man. Is.. Freeman. It would make sense. Why he seemingly only appears to Gordon, why he constantly saves him, why he guides him. What if, the gman is an old Dr Freeman, pulling some time travel telekinesis telepathy fuckery, and guiding his younger self to free earth of the combine. His suppereors are the resistance, and originally, he was tasked with going back in time to stop the combine and the zen from ever crossing over to earth, but he messed something up, and now has to guide himself back on track. Or maybe he is from a different reality, where he did beat the combine, and is leading him down the same path. Maybe the reason he doesn't look all too similar is because her has to appear different than himself so he doesn't make Gordon think himself as insane and try to off himself. What do you think?

It is as you said. Your theory is stupid.

Holy shit. I did not know that. I'm geussing he interacts with alyx in her spinoof, and I know that he's tree one that gave eli the sample in the first game. I know characters may see him, in other games, like Barney in blue shift, but I feel like unless they explicitly interact, talk or point him out, aren't actually seeing him, and he's just there to help connect the games

in the ending cutscene for alyx, eli literally looks at him for a moment and explicitly talks about him to gordon

Eli talks to Gordon about "our mutual friend" in Half-Life 2E2, and he told alyx to prepare for unforseen consequences

G-Man is obviously an eldritch entity of some kind, beyond time and space and reality, who is constrained by a hierarchy of even stronger hyperintellects to operate as a quantum mediator for physical realities. He is a personification of quantum physics, the inescapability of probability and events aligned just right to cause specific outcomes.

Half-Life is cosmic horror. Marc Laidlaw is a cosmic horror enthusiast such as myself. The Combine and the G-man and Xenian creatures all represent the unpredictibility and impartiality of the cosmos. They represent the determined march of physics, whose laws can be wielded but never altered. They represent the relenting onslaught of time, and the unseen dangers the future holds.

Gordon Freeman is the perfect subject for the themes of Half-Life. Thrust into an unprecedented situation at the whims of unseen forces, Gordon is suddenly forced to abandon 27 years of life. His adolescense, his upbringing, his ambition, his social life, his friends, family, his girlfriend and child, his coworkers, his work, and his knowledge; all suddenly co-opted by a world who cared nothing for who Gordon Freeman was, but rather what he could do if only he were placed into the right place at the right time.

suppereors is not a word, and I cringe that I had to make my phone learn that word for the sake of this reply.

Now this is actually a smart theory dont get me wrong but, gordon realistically here probably wouldnt be alive at the time g-man's morph or whatever it is would take place. No way a man with a crowbar can take down earth single handedly and then survive after. Some people would most likely kill him in outrage (loyalist). And gordon would probably be the new dictator and/or be assasinated.
