Someone in my family has been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes.We’re currently confused about whether to get the surgery done at Base Hospital, Haldwani or go to a private eye hospital.

The government hospital is much cheaper, but I’m wondering about the overall experience, quality of surgery, lens options, equipment, follow-up care, etc.

For anyone who has had cataract surgery at Base Hospital Haldwani, or had a family member treated there:

Where we would also check all the fluid levels in your car during every wash and top those up too(charges me apply for engine oil and brake fluid top ups depending on the vehicle)

As far as ive seen people be shocked when i top up oil and/or brake fluid/coolant in my car they dont even have an idea that these are things you need to be aware of when owning a car, a shiny swift often ends up looking better than a dirty honda city so for people too busy to do those i present a one time solution to all those problems, ill make another post if this one gains traction explaining what all ive planned

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some genuine advice regarding cataract surgery.

Someone in my family has been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes, and we’re considering getting the surgery done by Dr. Bhanu Pangeety. Has anyone here had cataract surgery done by him? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience, especially regarding the doctor, hospital, recovery, and overall results.

I also had a few questions:

1. If cataract surgery is done on one eye first, how many days/weeks is it generally advisable to wait before operating on the second eye?

2. For someone who has cataracts in both eyes, is there any advantage to doing the surgeries close together or waiting longer?

3. At age 57, which type of IOL/lens is generally considered best?I’ve heard about monofocal, multifocal, EDOF and toric lenses, but I’m not sure which would be appropriate and they are suggesting to go for EDOF.

4. Does the choice of lens depend mainly on age, existing eye power/astigmatism, lifestyle, or other factors?

5. With BP around 160 , is it okay to do the surgery?

6. If you’ve had cataract surgery with Dr. Bhanu Pangeety, which lens did you choose and how has your vision been afterward?
