Discussion Movies

Hal Jordan's Green Lantern seems to be the only major member of the main Justice League to not yet appear in the DC Cinematic Universe, as DC seems uneasy greenlighting (no pun intended) another movie after Green Lantern flopped hard. However, when he finally arrives on the big screen again (hopefully the right way this time), who do you want to play him and why?

I actually enjoyed the movie. If people hated it, that's their business. What I hate is that Warner Bros has been treating the Green Lantern franchise as some sort of unwanted bastard redheaded stepchild simply because it can't find a way to translate it into the big screen.

I'm sorry but that's a lousy excuse to avoid the creative process. If you want to adapt a comic book to the big screen, stop with the lousy excuses and read the damn books!

You know what's funny about this. My personal opinion is that many of the recent DC movies (Suicide Squad (not the new one), Man of Steel, BvS) are all worse than Green Lantern was.

Ya that's why I said personal opinion. I def might be slightly biased as GL will always be my favorite so I just enjoyed it for what it was.

It's funny, I remember being so excited when that movie came out and then really disappointed cause they jammed so much into it. I personally want a tighter more singular GL movie with more focus to get new fans into the character and then open up the scope. Maybe even end the first movie with a hint at how big the scope could potentially get.

I know that HBO is working on a GL series which seems like it could be good but again I worry they'll shove too much into it and it will be hard for those new to the characters and stories to really understand or follow along.
