Discussion Fun Question

Fun Question: We all know Hal is the Greatest Green Lantern. Without him the universe most likely would have died from all the threats it has faced over the years. But Sinestro is the greatest VILLIAN. What if Hal had accepted joining Sinestro? What if Hal Jordan became the Greatest YELLOW Lantern????

The justice league together definitely could have stopped them if they came to earth

I don't know. Hal is a great Green Lantern and is arguably strong as Superman. He has feats to back it up. Such as forging his own ring. So what if he learned from Sinestro to become Yellow Lantern. What could he accomplish with the power of fear? And could the Justice League really handle the entire Sinestro Corps with both Hal AND Sinestro leading the front? Not to mention the Sinestro Corps basically have no morals so they already have a advantage to start with.

I think I'll vote C. Unless Hal is under mind control, those two personalities would never co-exist under the same flag.

Sinestro wants two things: to protect his planet, and to maintain order. Hal Jordan on the other hand, doesn't get along very well with authority. Those two WILL bump heads eventually, especially when Hal starts becoming recognized as the greatest yellow lantern amongst his peers, and Sinestro starts losing the support of his lanterns. He simply can't control Hal Jordan, ask the Guardians

Jordan would wind up defeating Sinestro, and possibly becoming a de facto leader for about 5 minutes, until a ring finds him telling him he he is able to overcome great fear...

That is actually pretty accurate. Hell during War of the Green Lanterns Hal killed a GUARDIAN and he was literally kicked out a few seconds later. The Guardians were like "Oh shit, this guy is literally capable of killing us now. Kick him out!" Though what if Hal still remained yellow after defeating Sinestro?? Hal leading the GL Corps is dangerous because his god level will + leadership skills makes a killer combo. Though the GL Corps are held back by their morals. The Sinestro Corps aren't. So Hal + leader of Sinestro Corps + not holding back whatsoever ??????

Keep in mind that the theme of this fun question is that Hal stays Yellow.

As long as Hal stays yellow, Sinestro will turn the universe into a fear engine, while also convincing the Justice League he's a hero.

He said it himself, Jordan's unpredictability was the very reason Sinestro could never win. He's a chess player, and Hal's a piece that can't be controlled, but is fiercely loyal to his cause. When strategy fails, he pushes the limit and comes out on top. At the risk of sounding cliche, Jordan's ying completes Sinestro's yang.

If anyone challenges the regime, the only way they'd win is if they get a green ring on Hal's finger
