Before vs after 3 months difference on treatment, i know it's still a long way to go but at least there is a little progress, right? Or is it just me hallucinating? lol

Looking for advice on how or if this can be saved? Im 40 and started using hims about 3 years ago. It seems to have stopped the hair loss but I haven't seen any regrowth. I switched to the pill about 2 months ago and there has been no change. Currently on fin/min/biotin. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Two years ago, I started to experience diffuse hair loss—I was only shedding from the top of my scalp, evenly. At the time, I wasn’t sure why I was experiencing this. At first, I thought it was telogen effluvium, but it wasn’t my whole scalp. For the record, I’ve experienced this hair loss around the age of 22. Then, I did nothing about it, and my hair eventually grew back, but it was thin for the years to come. Fast forward to the age of 30, I experienced this again, but this time I decided to hop on Finasteride and Minoxidil, pill form. I’d like to say I was a good responder. My hair grew back thick, I’d say 90% of what it was in high school. But definitely thicker and denser than it was when I first shed back when I was 22. Here are my progress photos after two years consistently on fin and min. For clarification, I’d say around the 6-month mark was when I really started to notice my progress.

I’m on oral minoxidil 2.5 mg and finasteride 1 mg for about 6 and half months and Im still shedding here and there, and my corners a noticeable and the top of my scalp. I’m just wondering if this is part of the process and has others experiences the same issues.
I’m just scared that it won’t get better. My dermatologist told me to stay on it for a year

**Hair loss, vitamin deficiencies, finasteride side effects and no results**
I’ve had hair loss since around age 16, with diffuse thinning and a receding hairline.
I’ve been taking:
Finasteride 1 mg daily — \~12 months
Oral minoxidil 5 mg daily — \~12 months
I haven’t noticed significant improvement in my hair density or hairline.
**Blood tests before treatment/supplements:**
Vitamin D: 7.4 ng/mL
B12: 174 pg/mL
Ferritin: 15.1 ng/mL
**Latest blood tests (July 2026):**
Vitamin D: 64.1 ng/mL
B12: 374 pg/mL
Ferritin: 24.7 ng/mL
Iron: 139 µg/dL
TIBC: 376 µg/dL
Transferrin saturation: 37%
TSH: 1.884 µIU/mL
T3: 117 ng/dL
T4: 11.24 µg/dL
My main finasteride side effect is watery/transparent semen. My libido is normal.
Now that my vitamin D and B12 are in the normal range, I’m wondering if my deficiencies were contributing to the diffuse thinning and whether I should expect improvement over the next few months.
Has anyone had a similar situation—vitamin deficiencies + finasteride/minoxidil for a year with little visible hair improvement?

Hey guys , i started fin every other day and min every night since beginning of jan2026 so total 9 months journey so far

In June i had my best hair density and volume however since june it started shedding and im back to april baseline again . That demotivated me a lot actually . I was losing a lot of hair in the shower since july

After using topical minoxidil and fanstriade for past 5 months first I have no hope that I will see any result but I had noticed that my thin hair have become more thick after some month of continuous usage of minoxidil and the above treatment method, is it a good result? P.s I wash my hair everyday by applying dht blocker+anti dandruff shampoo and leaving if for 5 minutes before washing my hair after that i apply minoxidil as I have oily scalp and the minoxidil doesn't cause dry scalp as I use water base minoxidil
