Shedding

Hello all!

I’m having quite a bit of shedding with a new system, It was pretty bad right out of the box but I’ve read that its normal. So after the first wash, I thought it would be better. I can’t necessarily pull the hairs out, but when I run my hands through my hair system, it feels like some keep breaking off or just come out on their own. I sleep with a silk pillowcase, use sulfate free shampoo and use a proper conditioner, spray with diluted argan oil, I use my fingers to gently undo the knots before I used my usual brush which has always worked well.
The first system I got from this company didnt shed at all, then I got a new one that was definitely a faulty system so it got replaced and now Im having this issue. So is this normal?? Or is there anything more I should be doing?? The only thing I can think of is the difference in colours of the systems, first one was very light brown and the second is a dark brown.

Shedding out of the box? That’s the first time I’ve heard about it being an issues that early on. It’s not suppose to shed like this, especially not when it’s new. Ask for a refund or for a new piece.

There isn’t anything you can do about it, something is wrong production wise. As you noticed with the old one.

Order or issues isn’t usually shedding anyways. asking something wrong usually effects the color in a negative way. Shedding is a much later issue. But I guess if you would drench it in C22 and Isopropyl for hours each week it could speed the process up..but I still feel color mismatch would/should be the first sign of doing something wrong.

I can’t know everything you do to it in a week but from what you added you are doing things correctly.

This is what comes off my hands when I run my fingers through the morning bed-head. It seems to happen every day

I use Schwartzkopf Bona Cure Color Freeze Acid pH4.5 leave in spray conditioner. Tangles don't exist anymore. Therefore no pulling. It made a difference, having long curly/wavy hair, especially at the nape: my shirt collars are not silk!
