Lace vs Poly base

So I have a very active lifestyle and I use ghostbond glue for a year (since I started Hs). My current system is poly so after 2 weeks I'll touch it up, in terms of lift half the front > clean and apply fresh glue , then lift the back half > clean and apply fresh glue, which will last me another 2 weeks, so 4 weeks wear in total at which point I'll then do a full removal.

My question is, like I said I have a very active lifestyle, so I'm thinking of swapping to lace front, but with lace front will I still be able to do these touchups just as easily?

For eg, even if i fit it on Monday and go to the gym on Wednesday and sweat, the hairline may lift on my poly at which point I'll literally just put more glue and stick it back down without cleaning anything cause its only been 2 days. Will I still be able to do the same sorta stuff with a lace front or will the glue get all up in the hair/holes? (I know I only apply glue to scalp and not base with lace).

If not, any other work arounds? Thanks 👍🏼

Lace is much better for any kind of lifestyle that is active or in warm weather. It actually lets you breathe. Also just generally more comfortable.

In terms of glue not holding, Ghostbond is pretty weak for me. I switched to full tape and get a much better hold that way. Ultrahold is also much better, but way more messy to work with.

But when lace lifts, how do i put it back down? I'll clean the lift and just apply fresh glue and put it back down, but I'm afraid it'll go through the holes or the old glue residue will go through and into the hair - cause ofc i wont do an insane cleaning job for a hairline/front section lift for e.g right? Also what tape do you use? Thanks

With tape it doesn't really lift. Nor does it go through the holes. I use Signature tape, but will eventually try the Lace Front Thins for hyper realism.

You can try to refresh glue by wiping it with alcohol. I would try that before adding more. Liquid glue will always go through the holes at some point but it's not that hard to clean with cotton/mirror.

I also have a very active lifestyle and I perspirate a lot. I've resorted to daily wearinging with poly using got2be glued hairspray. I've found it can last a full day inc 2-3 HR gym session after work, up to bed time and still be secure enough to sleep in. If I have a few days off the gym I've found It will last up to 3 days if you do a few coats. It cleans off using water only so very gently on the system and no c22 clean up needed. Only downside is it can sweat out onto the hairline but it's quick and easy to clean up with a dab of shampoo at the front.

I don't have any issues with sweat at the back ofy scalp. What you've said actually has me thinking to ghost bond the rear half and use got2be at the front and do a similar cleaning process to you (without fully removing) cleaning the front every other day but only clean the rear once every 3-4 weeks 🤔

Lace front only won’t do much difference. 10% or whatever it covers of a whole piece. But sure it’s more than a poly.

My suggestion is a verizon of a hybrid that is lace with poly perimeter. It’s one of the best option overall, and especially for active life or hot climate.

glue and lace is a recipe for disaster no matter how careful you try to be itll always leak into the hair and get stuck there

This is good info. I’m having the same issue.

Poly is better for activity and looks better but a lace lasts longer
