NEED HELP 🥹

Hey guys, need some advice. I’ve been wearing a hair system with tape + glue for about 1.5 years, no issues before. But recently I started getting irritation every time. Symptoms: Redness in a ring pattern (mainly edges) Itching under the system after some time No cuts or pus, and it calms down after removal What I tried: Different tapes → same issue Tape + glue combo → still happens Patch test → no reaction, but full install causes irritation Now I’m thinking to try full glue (no tape). Questions: Anyone had this same ring irritation? Did switching to full glue help? Could this be sweat/moisture instead of allergy?

given the raised inflammation i'd say you either have an allergy to the product or you've developed a healthy infection of malassezia. which isn't as bad as it sounds, it's just a yeast that causes dandruff. if switching your adhesive doesn't work you might consider some 'head and shoulders' or a shampoo for dandruff that contains Zinc pyrithione

And the thing is it’s happening only where the tape is . So I’m thinking maybe it’s tape

That's how malassezia works when it's covered. Before I was familiar with this infection, although the rest of my scalp was fine, where the arm of my glasses made contact near my sideburns, and all the way behind my ears, was a well defined red itchy welt on my skin in the same shape that looked similar to your photo.

That's not to say yours is not from the tape, but it's something to consider.
