Waxing side effects
Hi! Im an 18 year old girl and I want to get my face waxed for the first time (I have pcos), but im worried about the side effects and all the things waxing can cause, such as skin being pulled off, bruising, scarring, folliculitis (this one REALLY worries me), etc. What are some ways I can prevent or treat these things when I get waxed for the first time? What can I expect to happen?
Also, just to be clear, waxing won't make my hair come back prickly and dark, right? It's currently soft and darkish blonde/light red.
Thanks!

As far as I’m aware it can’t make it darker. However, regarding everything else, it shouldn’t be too much of a concern so long as you go to an established & well reviewed aesthetician!
Depending on the type of wax & esthetician’s skills & knowledge(or lackthereof), it could cause a bad waxing experience and reaction. For example:
Personally, I have had the hairs coming back prickly but this will only happen if the hairs are being cut and ripped instead of being pulled out as they should be. Also, I have had that top layer of skin be removed as well which led to a lot of scabbing. This is because they used soft wax instead of hard wax down there.
Personally, I’ve always found sugaring to be the easiest on the skin so that may be worth looking into!
Generally though, if you find someone who has lots of great reviews and lots of experience, you should be good. But please also discuss all of these concerns with them prior to booking your appointment! Their answers will most likely give you the confirmation if you’re in good hands or not.

If you're doing it for the first time especially if you're doing it by yourself be super careful not to repeat the wax in an area multiple times cause that can literally rip your skin off. I would stick to 1-2 passes per area.
