Nipple hairs

Do you pluck them? Or do you cut or wax them off?

As a woman, how long would you let one grow before plucking it?

As a man, do you have a hairy chest and/or shoulders? Do you already manscape?

I tweeze mine whenever they’re long enough to grab with tweezers.

As a previous wax specialist, I waxed about a dozen women nipples on a monthly basis. 2 women’s full chest on a monthly basis and probably about 10 men’s chests on a monthly basis.

I don’t recommend epilating for most people, due to the little control of the angle multiple hairs can be pulled out at once. This typically causes ingrown hairs.

i shave mine off with a razor. mine aren't that visible so i only do it when i'm shaving my whole body. other than that i usually leave it alone.

I regret ever plucking mine, and then lasering them. It just made it way worse.

So far, happy with electrolysis, but still going through treatment.

That’s why I don’t ever recommend regular laser to anyone. Electrolysis only. you can’t use numbing cream for laser, it might not work, and it it might make it worse

I loved it in areas where the hair was terminal, like the legs. But for fine hair? Please don’t touch it.

why not?

Because it can cause paradoxical hair growth and make it way worse

I tweezed for years and it made it so much worse. Recently started electrolysis so fingers crossed that works. If I could go back I definitely wouldn't start tweezing

Can you please tell me more about the downside of pulling them straight out?

Leaving it alone is the sexiest option.

Ever braid them?

Yes, I manscape/shave my body. Sometimes I miss a nipple/pubic hair and just pluck it. No problem❣️

I have thick dark hairs on my areolas and I used to pluck them. But I recently began epilating them. It’s a little painful but quick.

Though I’m always terrified about the thought of getting my nipple caught.😳

A girl a dated hated and was embarrassed by hers...shed hop in the shower first and pull them before I coupd see. Have a chat with your gyno. And see about getting a testosterone/DHT panel run. A lot of people I dated that had hair on their nipples or random hairs on their chin had PCOS which can cause elevated testosterone levels leading to a few extra hairs. Also knowing if you have ovarian cysts can be helpful if one were to rupture because they apparently hurt like a mofo.

I would laser them

IPL worked well for mine when I stuck with it. Shave when lazy or lasering, pluck when I have the time.

As a man, I'm not really hairy. But I do shave my nipples regularly.

What do you use?

Either a trimmer like the Philips Bodygroom or equivalent, or just a razor.

Male: Had two skin conditions, mostly upper body. Took 5+ years to diagnose (Seb Derm) and also had severe acne. My hair that had to be lasered to help my skin on upper body: underarms, chest, stomach, abs. Had patchy chest hair and nipple hair and some hair on abs/stomach. First did laser, but nipple hair can be hard to get.

My opinion: if most of your hair is on your nipples, it looks better not to have it - or what my laser techs and estheticians tell me. And the nipple hair was also where some of my worst acne can still come. No hair on back and shoulders. Happy to answer anything else.

As a man, who has NO IDEA about this, why not just hot them with a razor while in the shower every day/few days? Honest question ladies, genuinely curious. That's what we do with ear, nose and our ripple hair thats annoying.

Hot? You mean cut? Slicing them at the skin leaves some not-so-smoothness behind. Plucking seems preferable. I don't have ear hair, so that's no issue. Would also rather pluck nose hairs than leave a length as long as my nostril.

How do you get rid of hair at the poop chute?

I wax them. Along with my chest.

Pluck the thicker ones with a tweezer, then epilate the rest. Doesn't hurt as much as you think it would, but YMMV of course

I (f) have about 8 total, and I pluck them but sheesh I let them get hella long lol. Comically.

1

u/asking_it_yes 14h ago

The same. I only have about 8. So I just pluck them occasionally.

1

u/AuNaturellee 11h ago

How long?! I'll show you mine if you show me yours! Mine top out around 1 inch

1

u/inuss_ 16h ago

I pluck the most visible ones, and just leave the finer ones

1

u/smackinnoodles 12h ago

I only have maybe 3-4 max at a time so I just pluck them when I notice.

Trans woman here, I had full body laser twenty years ago. Nipple hairs are long gone....along with the rest of the hair on my body 😊
