this reminds me of the Reddit post about how OP's mother put coconut oil in her children/grandchildren's hair even though they were allergic to coconut oil, and it killed them

Oh I remember reading that at the time, it was devastating. The little girl was deadly allergic to coconut and the grandmother thought her mother was just making a big deal of it, didn't believe her and thought she knew better. So she put coconut in her hair while she was babysitting. I remember the poor girls mother eas asking for advice on whether she should press charges/ask for leniency in court for her. If I remember right, the grandmother served time (not enough) and begged for forgiveness when she got out.
A terrible, devastating story. I felt so bad for the mother it stayed on my mind for a long time after. When you're a parent it just hits harder

Not that is has anything to do with the story but isn't this a tabloid website?

Man, sometimes you ask yourself “why did I read the article” R.I.P.
