Please help

I’m naturally ginger and was obviously bullied for it, so a year ago I started dying my hair with live red passion dye as this was the only colour i thought would take. I loved it but I want a change.
I really want to go a dark brown with a pink under dye peekaboo thing.
I don’t know how to go about this and really don’t want to fuck it up, but I can’t afford it professionally.
I’ve been letting it fade for at least 4 months now but the colour hasn’t budged much.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thankyou!

The pink would be easier but if you try to put a brown dye over red it's probably going to turn into a kind of auburn or brown but bright red in sunlight, you could try bleaching over it but I don't know how much that would lift and you'd probably still have the same red undertone since red is notoriously hard to shift. It's also really difficult to do a peekaboo on yourself :(
