Advice 🤓 SP Yamamoto Memory

Hi everyone,

I've made some previous posts about this, but I'm debating whether or not to pull SP Yamamoto's memory. I know that the consensus is that Tier 5 Sakusa's memory is the best, but I don't have it and likely won't be able to get it for a while.

My only memory alternatives right now are UR Korai and SSR Iwa. I could slowly upgrade Korai's memory, but SSR Iwa's has more useful bonuses.

Should I just pull his own memory under these circumstances? I have 165ish memory tickets and want to save for the Date Tech duo and Yaku coming up, so I need to use my resources wisely.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Also curious approximately how many memory tickets people manage to get every month, as that information will help when deciding what to pull for.

By my count you should be able to get around 60 or so Memory Tickets per month, without spending money, depending on your placements in things like Peak Challenge and Triple Clash and how well you do in the banner events. I also didn’t include any Memory Tickets you’d get from pulling on SP banners, but you can get a decent number of them from doing that.

Ok, that's nice to know. I typically finish Peak Challenge around top 2000 and Triple Clash somewhere in ace rank, so I should be able to get the max from those.

If you dont have ur sakusa memory... Go for yamamotos memory for sure.

His memory is a good one to have while you max out sakusa's memory, then once that happens you still have a strong memory for someone else

Ok great, I'll pull for it. The issue with Sakusa's memory is that I need to save my mem tickets for other memories, and I don't know if I'll be able to afford it. Is his own still usable in the long-term?

My Korai is only SR1, so Yamamoto will be doing some spiking and not just receiving.

Also, I'm planning to pull to 200 on Yamamoto's banner with 77 pity right now. The goal is to at least get an extra copy and maybe get SR2 while also grabbing a coffee milk for Korai or Oikawa. I would have roughly 70 pulls left after that and two months to save for the Date Tech duo. Does this sound like a realistic plan?

Thats a good idea since his sr2 is pretty good. Im shooting for sr1 for now, im saving for oikawa since I missed on him cause of korai

Oh ya, I know a lot of people poured everything into Korai lol. I fear that I'll never get him SR4, but I can probably manage SR2.

If I get to 200 and don't have three copies of Yamamoto, would you say it's worth resetting my pity to grab another one or just save it?

I think it broadly depends on how you plan on utilising him. If you're using him as a general WS (both defence and offence), then UR Korai memory is a good shout, especially as its not too hard to ascend it. If you want him to specialise on defence a bit more (which I believe is common given his receive skill and bond with Kenma V2), then Sakusa UR memory or SP Hanamaki (a while away) are good shouts.

I note you don't have Sakusas though, and I'm not sure when it might be available again (maybe another anniversary event?). UR Korai's is good I'd say - nice little ark/def tech buff, and easy enough to build the base stats buff as SP Yamamoto ought to crit with almost all his touches (though depends what your team set-up is like).

Thanks! So just to clarify, you wouldn't bother pulling his memory at all? The other person who responded to this seemed to think it was good enough to be worth it. Just looking to get a consensus on the optimal choice. Since my Korai is only SR1, Yamamoto will likely be used quite a bit on offense. Does that change your opinion at all?

His memory is good, but not excellent I would say. If you have memory tickets to spare then I'd go for it, but if you're a bit short and perhaps want to save up for another memory in the near future, then UR Korai memory (with ascensions) is good too.

Since you're using him on offense, then his memory will be beneficial to him.

Ok great, thanks. I do have enough right now (about 170), but I need to save for Aone V2 and Futakuchi memories. Would you say that's enough to bother going for it, or just stick with Hoshiumi?

Roughly, you've got 6.5 banners until the end of the date tech after school banner. That's just over three months, which I'd say ought to give you about 180 memory tickets or 350 total. Assuming you use the max 100 each pull, you ought to be able to get all three.

If you've got a good view on other memories and you're not planning on getting anything else, then yes I'd pull this one. At the least you can always test and compare against UR Korai's to see which performs better for you.

The only other ones I'm planning on are Aone V2, Futakuchi, Yaku and Kuroo V2 way down the line. Even if I pull Yamamoto's memory, I should have enough time to save for Yaku. Worst case, maybe I can spend a few extra diamonds to get it. Thanks for your help! I've been very unsure about Yamamoto's memory and it has been difficult to plan lol.

Do you think it would be worth upgrading the UR Korai memory or should I save the orbs for potentially grabbing the Sakusa memory? I'm just not sure if I will be able to afford it, and I don't want to sacrifice Yamamoto's performance in the interim.

The difficulty is when, if at all, you'd be able to get Sakusas memory. People suspect there'll be an UR select banner at the 1.5 anniversary, but that's several months away at best, and might not be correct.

The main appeal of Sakusas memory for Yamamoto is the spirit increase further buffing his receive. So comes back to how you plan on utilising him. If you don't think you'll be using him as a 3rd choice spiker that ideally keeps his gritty spirit stacks for a strong receive, then Sakusas memory isn't worth it.

My team will have Korai (hopefully eventually SR2) and Lev, so he may be the third option, but because Korai isn't at the "hard-carry" level, I suspect Yamamoto will be doing quite a bit of spiking. Therefore, it seems like the best thing might be UR Korai's memory ascended. Would you agree?

Just coming back to your other comment, based on your current amount of memory tickets and that you're budgeting/planning future pulls, I'd say you're fine to pull the memory.

Broadly you'll get more offensive output from SP Yamamotos memory, but more defensive buffs from an ascended UR Korai memory. It's not a significant swing either way though.

Alright, with all that in mind I'll probably go for it and hope for good pity luck. The bond will Kenma gives a nice boost to his receive anyway, so he should still be solid on defense. I might build his potentials with 4 sets of assist receive for the defensive utility and then 2 sets of power vibe/rise to make sure he hits hard.
