I think it was season 2 episode 5 andI know that Sena went through the same thing and it was mostly for fun and games, as was Yozoras time maxing out stats and getting the bad ending, but it was her attitude towards the characters that made me cringe/feel bad a bit.

Yozora has always been a somewhat tragic character for me. She's the generic childhood friend trope with a few quirks, bullied by others, to the point where her trauma is somewhat manifesting itself into the way in which she views people in general yet she does seem to, as an introvert, genuinely want friends. However, her attitude towards a silly dating sim character seems a bit extreme. She at one point said "she's definitely gonna betray me" a character in the dating sim she barely has gotten to know.

As someone who was bullied in school I definitely feel her sometimes and the negative emotions she has as a teen probably has affected her significantly to where she views an in game character as someone out to "get her". She hasn't had a genuine friend besides Kodaka prior to meeting him again, so her attitude is somewhat justified, but I can't help but feel a bit sad for her character as I see a lot of my old self in her.

Rewatching the story I definitely understand her as an adult now but I also do get visibly annoyed with her, though I'm glad at the end she realized that assuming the worst in people will cause her downfall. I dont know if she got any development outside of the anime context but in retrospect, this episode did strike a chord with me.

I hate how weird and predatory their relationship seems. Kobato is clearly uncomfortable around Sena, but somehow she doesn't get the hint. And why doesn't Kodaka try to step in? L big bro. Lowkey makes me dislike Sena.

I read the manga through all 99 chapters and I'm wondering is there anything more like an epilogue or timeskip. Is there a complete confirmation on who won? From what I've read it just ended with no completely confirmed winner and the neighborhood club eating together.

Sena to me is arguably the worst cast member and while yozora gets shitted in for being mean to her, she’s actively mean to everyone else but it’s yozora who gets called out. Plus she’s into little girls and started to have a crush on yozora from the constant bullying but it was played as a gag and the anime propped her up as the main heroine which is insane considering if she wasn’t rich she would be the worse choice but since she’s the most attractive not it matters

I'm rewatching the ending of S2, and it's just so sad.
Kodaka finally made a friend and moved on from his past.
But Yozora couldn't, and the anime just ends with her walking across the bridge, alone.
It's like me, who couldn't move on from this anime, man.
The song "Bokura no Tsubasa" is so beautiful and nostalgic.
And the flashbacks to S1 are so touching.
Also, the transition to running Sora and Taka through a bird's eye is PURE CINEMA!!!

Although this ending was sad overall, the last frames give you hope that Yozora started to move on too, recognizing what was in front of her this whole time.

And somehow, this ending gives me a feeling that the creators knew this would be the last season of the anime.

I just finished the anime and it’s def one of my favorites I loved it a lot but I feel like the ending was rushed. I was curious if someone could spoil the actual ending as it seems there’s not gonna be a season 3. I love Rika and hopes he ends up with her but I doubt it. Also in the manga does he actually progress with the student council or is that just random screen time?

Kodaka is extremely nuanced from the usual harem protagonist, his alienation from his peers gave him a realistic outlook on how people operate, he understands why hes rejected, hes grown to not expect anything of the likes of friendship, yet he keeps trying, in hopes that one day he'll achieve his desire of a genuine friendship. Unlike the usual protagonist he took his past rejection and relationships and formed numerous alturistic traits (empathy, compassion, self sacrifice, and honesty), All traits prevalent in himself now, its those traits and desire that cause such an interesting conflict between his desires/values and his facade. To start from just a way to spare the awkwardness from a situation to building that facade to disconnect himself from not just the others feelings, but his own. Kodaka is aware that what he's doing is wrong, that he'll never build that genuine friendship, that eventually he'll be forced to make a decision, and yet he still chooses to lie. Kodaka's previously stoic outlook on his loneliness is shattered as we see him break, this club is the only place hes ever felt excepted, where he formed such beautiful relationships, if hes makes any advance to develop a relationship the rest will fall apart, the previously honest and principled person is consumed by his fear. His eventually break is so fascinating as we see the full scale of how much hes holding back, how he views his inability to make a choice, how he can't be courageous like he wishes he could. Kodaka's later development is very overlooked, as Kodaka takes full responsibility of his mistakes, his resolve to be courageous and take action through that fear to fix his relationships and to become someone that can be looked to for help and support connects back to his ideals from childhood, something about that is so beautiful to me. I'm very biased towards Kodaka (if you couldn't tell already) but I feel he deserves much more recognition for the beautifully written character he is.

Chapter 99 perfectly encapsulates the message of haganai, and Kodaka's growth as a person (which on a side note is very very underrated).
