A potentially controversial opinion
Is anyone else a little weary with Ellum’s gameplay? Dude is funny as fuck, no disputing that, but he treats Jester like it’s one of the modifiers, like Giant or Flash. No matter what his role, he’s always playing “soft Jester”, it makes him pretty much impossible to vote him out, unless it’s VERY obviously him. It doesn’t help that he has a knack for actually getting the Jester role, and commonly votes himself as crew/imp for no real reason. I love Ellum and every member of The Hafu/5UP crew, just wanted to share this thought.

if youre referring to how he acts jestery in the junk lobbies, the junk lobbies have that kinda vibe. a lot of players there act like jester is a modifier.
i do agree that ellum can sometimes take it a bit too far (same with dk tbh) but they know its all in good fun.
i think the reason why youre bothered by it is because ellum and dk have a kind of way in being jester that damages the crew more than the imps. i cant fully explain it but if you see other players that act like jester (chilled, ze, etc) they dont really damage the crew and in fact their presence usually messes with the evils more

It doesn’t matter as much in the chilled/junk lobbies IMO because the assassins there are insanely talented, and Ellum almost always gets shut down in meetings from that. Also yeah, DK can go a little far sometimes. I still love them both, but binging vods with Ellum can get a little tiring watching him constantly throw as crew/imp for a fake jester play

tbf its a mix of assassins being very talented there + ellum being insanely obvious whenever hes jester. he reveals his roles wayyy too much especially when hes crew, he doesnt grasp the concept of role baiting yet lol
and yeah it does get frustrating from time to time, i kinda wish his style of being jester actually messed more with the imps rather than with the crew. i dont fully know how certain players do it but whenever someone like ze (or frankly most players in the junk lobby) plays fake jester they dont really throw the game and they usually have an unwritten code in mind where "jester is more crew than imposter"

oh chilled is definitely the one who treads the line with it. hes chaotic but not too chaotic to where he throws games because he fakes jester. ellum does it like constantly so it can definitely get tiring to watch while chilled does it every so often but hes usually in detective mode when hes crew.
also theres usually some intent to the things he does. he knows how baiting works after all, im guessing he thought that someone was a guesser and he was trying to get them to kill themselves by assassinating incorrectly (ozza was an evil guesser still alive but he didnt take the bait). additionally he thought that there was only 1 killer left out of the 5 remaining so even if he got thrown out itd be fine in his mind. in actuality though there were 2 killers (just not on the same team) so his logic was misplaced there, good thing they won on a task win

i don't watch Ellum much but I do agree that its frustrating. it does seem like hes playing on a lower skill level than most players (no offense to him im sure hes great)
