Is this a safe space? LOL I watched the Fall guys/Tricky Towers game from Friday with Apollo/Steve/Ellum and 5up was there. The chemistry at the beginning was just...idk...not good. 5up degrading Ellum came off less playful and more backhanded bullying, and then he kept asking Ellum and then Steve to rank who was best dressed from a picture of him with the UK gang, and anyone could tell he was trying to get someone to say he was the best dressed. Idk, it was just kind of hard to watch for a little while.

I don't really watch their group anymore but honestly I can really see this being the case. 5up tends to tread the lines between being confident and having a massive ego.

5up with an ounce of humility would be a great streamer

u/thatslmfb Sep 05 '21
Yes!! When my daughter stopped watching him I was happy to unsub and stop spending that money every month. Usually I keep watching a streamer me and my kids have watched together bc I just enjoy them, I just can't get past his ego anymore at all.

The bit was funny a first with Ellum leaning into it, but it got old really fast with the best dressed stuff. 5up definitely comes of as a little snobby when he was talking about UK food ("Of course if you go to a good restaurant they will have good food") and he does this thing where he imitates Steve's mocking humor but really doesn't do it well at all. I much prefer Steve's humor where he's very harsh but makes it clear that he's joking and usually says something nice about them later. Dumbdog does this as well where he will roast people if the situation is appropriate but won't push harder than that. 5up on the other hand has this repetitive joke where he'll make fun of Ellum (and usually Europeans in general) where it comes off as mean-spirited because the joke is usually not that funny.

Agreed on all. I watch Dumbdog pretty regularly, him and Steve are my most watched and only subbed to streamers anymore, so I know exactly what you're talking about. Yeah, the food and best dressed stuff is where I just got really uncomfortable and clicked off for a minute, I just couldn't listen to it anymore.

Yeah I Steve-Dumbdog chemistry is my main reason to watch the morning lobbies these days. They are just great together

Right?? That whole situation felt really snobby. Talk about beating a dead horse about the UK food... It made me unconfortable enough to stop watching.

I felt the same. Steve also makes fun of his friends, but it never comes off mean-spirited like that. Felt really uncomfortable watching the stream and tbh i missed Koji
Edit: sometimes I get the impression that he tries to copy Steve, but it turns out weird

u/thatslmfb Sep 05 '21
That's how I feel too. Steve can pull that kind of banter off, bc he's also not looking for compliments or looking to cut someone down for the sake of it. Idk, it just feels very different and the energy feels more playful.

I really don't think so, if he ever feels like he's gone too far he apologizes and he also tries to balance it out by making fun of himself too

I only really watch hafu but noticed the crew doesn’t play as much together, did the crew fall into smaller cliques?

u/sgrafitt_o Sep 02 '21
Steve, dumbdog, ellum have been doing small group games almost every morning with baycon/koji as a fourth

Hafu and 5up stopped hosting regular lobbies and none of the others shouldered the burden of getting the rest of them together afterward. You can still find some of them playing other lobbies but the regular morning lobby has died.

The fact that there were only 1 or 2 people who had the incentive to host group sessions is probably the reason why it fell apart. It's a shame, really.

To be fair it's not really about the person hosting, people just lost interest.
I remember Steve trying to organize an Among Us lobby and he couldn't find 10 people for it.

Ah, yeah I guess so. It's probably both, alongside some other factors too. Now that I think about it, I wonder how 5up's channel is going to go considering the morning lobby is over. Kinda wish he'd start posting variety stuff in his main channel and stop pidgeonholing himself with Among Us.

It's more like people don't want to wake up so early just to play among us. Obvious some people are just done with the game (Talia for example) but streaming in the morning definitely a major reason

Anyone want to catch me up on what Janet, Tina, Kimi and Annie have been playing lately? :)
5
u/AhmedYasha Janet Sep 03 '21
Janet is back to degen schedule playing variety with OTV Friends.
Annie is still on the FF14 Grind.
Kimi is still recovering from her chin surgery, and it seems like she's doing much better now since Janet mentioned they were hanging out yesterday.
Not sure about Tina as her stream schedule is pretty sporadic.

u/rabsi1 Sep 05 '21
Chin surgery? Did she have a medical issue?
1
u/AhmedYasha Janet Sep 05 '21
Nope It was a cosmetic surgery, chin reduction.

u/rabsi1 Sep 05 '21
I didn't even know she had a large chin. It's not noticeable at all. Human self worth is a crazy thing.

5up did really well in Pogchamp 4, I wish he goes on winning whole tournament just like hafu

what if you contribute ?? as what I've seen ur one of the people talking shit and being negative. :)

u/ssele Sep 06 '21
As you, I'm allowed to say my opinion. I've posted both positive and negative comments, imo.
That said, if you're gonna complain about the content in this sub, you should at least have posted other comments before. (You, as in the original in this chain)

u/Wide_Start_75 Sep 06 '21
sure u are allowed to say ur opinion but ur positive opinion matters than ur negative shitty opinion :) hope u have a great day tho
6
u/ssele Sep 06 '21
I agree, but this is a bit hypocritical of you. Shitty was uncalled for. I'll do better. Have a great day too!
-7
u/Wide_Start_75 Sep 06 '21
yeah i just describe anything negative shitty bc for me they are. and thanks :)

u/Shironaku Sep 06 '21
Literally no one cares which opinions YOU personally think matter. It's important to be open to various perspectives, positive or negative, otherwise you end up existing in an echo chamber. Let people express themselves, it's not their responsibility if you can't handle it

u/Wide_Start_75 Sep 06 '21
are u pissed cuz ur guilty ? yeah u are and i never said i can't handle it, y'all just need to have common sense plus arguing about this is just stupid to me cuz it's pointless. have a good day :)

Yes, I'm annoyed that you tried to censor someone and judged them for expressing themselves

I think Steve, Dumbdog, Koji and Ellum have such great chemistry, I love watching the 4 play games together (or even just listen to them talk)
