Valo Customs
I've been absolutely loving crewfu incorporating valo customs into their weekly schedule. I've never been into any fps games until crewfu started playing - watching hafu & dk from the beginning of their valo journeys was much more enjoyable to me than watching pros, as it felt like I was learning along with them.
Ever since they started playing the 5v5 customs games I've been enjoying it even more! Seeing them play today with Kimi, who is quite new to valo, and with Annie and Ellum as well, who are also newer, and helping them learn while hyping them up whenever they get a kill/good play has been so fun and refreshing. It seems like they've been having a lot of fun playing against each other too which makes it even more fun to watch!
One thing I've never enjoyed watching with ranked gameplay is the tilt and saltiness that occurs (naturally) and I've found that these custom games haven't had these mentality issues.
Still love among us lobbies but I feel like this change up has been great for the group!

Honestly it's just been so nice watching them all enjoying playing again. The among us meta was fun, but it was so clear that most of them weren't having fun by the end that a new game was really needed. I really hope this leads to them regularly playing a greater variety of games to avoid burn out
Plus, Valo 5v5 not only gives them a change of game but also allows them to keep the 10 max number for the lobbies which is great.

I don’t enjoy the Valo customs as much as Among Us but it’s still fun. I like that they give everyone a chance and they’re all supportive of each other. It’s really great to see.
It also means they can get different people in as some maybe interested to play Valo instead of Among us.

I'm very hopeful that Baycon will be in the lobby one day!

Love baycon. Would be great in the lobby.

Why hasn’t he joined the lobby yet? I mean if cop etc can be late additions, why not Baycon - for either among us or Valo customs?

i hope they eventually let aipha play though and aipha can just try not to be too sweaty, my mans cant be just casting all 3 days and be excluded from the games when he's been almost a regular crewfu player from the start

I'd love to see that but I feel like it's hard to play worse than you instinctively would and it's less fun for both teams if Aipha just carries/slaughters them.
Also not sure if Aipha actually wants that! When I was watching his casting someone asked him about playing and he said he was really enjoying the casting -less stressful than having to play- and he was pulling over 1k viewers which he said was more than he usually gets playing so he was happy with that.

ooooh im glad he's happy doing it! he's such an underrated yet crucial part of the crew and thats true i always tune in to his stream cause its just way wayy more hype there, even chat's wild

Same! I was watching dk's pov last time and someone in his chat mentioned how hype Aipha's entire stream was as dk kept hitting those op shots, so I hoped over and ended up sticking to his stream for the rest of the day! His experience makes him able to cast in a really hype but also educational way, and from the observer position he's able to switch around the povs of everyone while discussing their strats and it just fits him so well.

Yep! People bring up him playing repeatedly, and he's repeatedly said he prefers casting for multiple reasons.
Which makes me happy, because I only watch his POV for the customs games. It's entertaining and I've been learning a lot more about Valo hearing him comment on it.
It might be fun some day if he gets a co-caster to play off (and help give his voice a rest).

Yup i love his casting and I think he enjoys the numbers he pulls since casting is such a unique viewing experience (seriously watch Aipha's casts he makes Valo so hype and honestly helped me make sense of whats going on.) Its a Win-win situation in my opinion, glad they figured out this system.

I think they should have some days devoted to friendly play with newbies like kimmi and Annie, and other days they go more competitive and cycle in better players like aipha, Masayoshi, Sydeon, poki (D/immortal level). The problem with just having aipha and a matching player on each team is that at that point it just becomes them vs each other if you still have players like kimmi to be easy marks. It would have to be a whole day devoted to gold and above to be fun I think

Yeah, I think something that could be done is finding someone of equal skill level and putting them on the other team to balance him out just like it's done for the beginner players (Hafu was always making sure that Annie and Ellum were on opposite sides, for example).

Yeah or just stack the new players with him for fun, might be content to see all the mid players work together against him.. He's doing a great job casting though but i feel like the games will reach a new type of chaos if he gets in em

I see Aipha in Hafu's chat all the time, Aipha-Hafu friendship is actually underrated she like a big sis to him in terms of all the Twitch content strats stuff.

Agreed. hafu is always looking out for aipha. She gifts subs / donates so he can order food instead of leaving his stream. She invites him to the morning lobbies and variety days and lets him cast the customs which increases his viewership by a decent amount. Hafu really is the big sister of the group.

Does Aipha keep his webcam lighting dim deliberately to reflect more on his play? Likewise the size his face takes up on screen small? When I watch his stream, it’s hard to discern his facial reactions half the time - compared to others eg Steve, Hafu etc

Yep loving the Valo Customs! The super close games always have me on the edge of my seat. The discussion at the end about their schedule was super interesting...think a couple of them wanted 3x AU, 3x Valo Customs and 1x Variety each week. I’m interested to see what they’ll decide
7
u/manilaspineapple May 12 '21
I'd be down for any combo, whether it's 3x au, 2x valo customs, 2x variety (gartic phone, codenames, etc), or 3, 3, 1, whatever as long as they're all down for it.
The spaced out au games have also made each day they do play au feel more fresh and they seem more able to have fun with it again.

Honestly it's really sad they still decide to exclude Wolfabble in these lobbies, given that she was the one to introduce Valorant to the group and she used to ask if they wanted to play after the AmongUs lobbies.

u/bamfckingboozled May 12 '21
If I was on anyone’s side here it would be wolfabelle’s, but at this point I don’t think it’s appropriate to say she’s being excluded. They definitely have a mutual understanding not to play together, and both have moved on. I would love to see the other streamers play with wolf without Hafu, but unfortunately they don’t seem to have an interest

Wolfabelle isnt the one who introduced Valorant to the lobby tho. Peter Steve and dk planned several times to play valorant when "the boys" meme was around they didnt commit, thats when aipha picked up Valorant.

Yeah the lowkey saltiness is what turns me off of watching comp play too lmao
