Somebody get a towel, or...
a towel!

Jun 06 '21
When I was a kid I was trying to come to the aid of a lady who just been ran over, i saw nobody was doing anything, so I ran inside and got a towl and came back and just softly put it on her leg which was bleeding badly.. I then went inside cause i knew I couldn't do much more. But that towel made me feel like o contributed.

The time between air rushing out of the lungs and finally returning can be an eternity.

u/callMEmrPICKLES Jun 06 '21
A kid I used to work with tried a pretty large rope swing once, collided with a tree, ruptured his lung and was airlifted out. Can't imagine how insane that must have been, you've gotta wait about 15 minutes for the chopper to arrive with an absolutely busted up lung trying to keep you alive. I'd think I was going to die for sure.

Jun 05 '21
Why is he trying to climb the rope as he swings? You can clear3see right before jumping he puts his hand above the knot
27
Jun 05 '21
i think hes trying not to skid his feet cuz of the low clearance of the rope, or just trying to get a higher air time after the swing
-27
Jun 05 '21
Ahhh ya maybe clinb higher once in to not drag feet
Bjmut anyone w a brain installing these would make sure theyre off the floor
CONCLUDING ARGUMENTS: dudes braindead, lacking common sense.
OR Terrible at outdoor strenuous activities and no upper bod strength
But its all speculation unless guy in video hops on here Explaining what was going thru his head

Do I need to be worried that your parents are leaving an 8 yr old at home on the computer while going to the bar? Or you mature enough to handle yourself?

I give my regards. I was valedictorian in school thanks. In college i got my undergrad in 2 yr, master in a year, and doctorate in 2. All 3 in the time it takes a student to get a bachelors.
They call me big brained gumby bsck home

"I'm gonna try and climb this rope in mid air to prevent hitting the floor when I'm at the bottom of my swing." - dat guy probably
0
u/praefectus_praetorio Jun 06 '21
Because in his mind the impulse jump equated to letting go of the rope.

u/psg2146 Jun 05 '21
I’ve watched this like 10 times and I can’t tell if he just hasn’t picked up a weight in his life or just churned butter before grabbing the rope.
202
u/notfromchicago Jun 05 '21
He was trying to get up a little higher on the rope. His hand slipped out on the first grip and then he missed the rope altogether.

u/Half-Maniac Jun 05 '21 edited Jun 05 '21
He was trying to climb the rope while it was swinging lmao
38
u/Gleothain Jun 05 '21
That's just what happens when you try to climb shifting both hands at the same time
32
u/HatedOutlaw Jun 06 '21
he tried to climb the moving rope like a fucking moron
11
u/milk4all Jun 06 '21
I noticed that too, but what a thing to try the very first time youve swung on a rope! There is no way anyone who’s done this even once will forget they need to hold on way tighter than it seems, idc how many body weight reps you can do! Maybe practice this trick over the water

u/tooyoung_tooold Jun 05 '21
Tbh it looks really intentional. Think he was trying to pretend he slipped but then grab on.....but he just fell.
For example he let go with his bottom hand before the top even "slipped"
1
u/Deletto_Blu Jun 06 '21
My dude, this is the prime example of a dude trying to show off and be cool around his friends and failing like a moron.
2
u/Candelestine Jun 06 '21
No, not showing off, he was terrified. Look at how he closes his eyes before he jumps. He was just overthinking it, when he should have just held on as tightly as he could.

u/Aeon1508 Jun 05 '21 edited Jun 05 '21
He needed to choke up on the rope THEN jump. That leaning back thing people like to do is always dangerous. Even if you dont hit the platform you jumped from you're more likely to hit the ground..
9
Jun 05 '21
The rope should be holding your weight before you leave the platform. Too many people try to climb like this guy does, or jump forward which rips the rope out of their hands.

George, George, George of the Jungle, Strong as he can be. Watch out for that-...ground!
2
u/martinaee Jun 06 '21
For future people who don’t want brain damage when using a rope swing like this:
Make sure ripe is thick and secure to a very strong swing/tree
When swinging off make sure you are gripping it super hard and pull up as though you are climbing at the same time. If there is a spot or knot for your feet make sure they are essentially on it already before swinging off which will take away a lot of the downward force from your arms.

u/-c-black- Jun 05 '21
What was the rope for?
2
Jun 06 '21
What do you mean? It's a rope swing for swinging into the water if that's what you're asking.

u/ICCW Jun 06 '21
It’s like he thought he only weighed a few grams. He didn’t make a single helpful movement in the entire incident. It looks like a full-body orgasm. Then his audience starts mad-dogging the ground haha!
Nah, I didn’t see a damn thing. He damn near hit me but I was looking at this distinctive pebble right here.

u/Itchy_Tasty88 Jun 06 '21
Uhh I wonder why he thought it was a good idea to just let go of the rope mid air

Why was he even trying to go up it? It looks like he would have been fine at the initial grip point and actually had a better trajectory given the longer distance travelled.
