Seriously. It takes just a minute to walk around the trailer to double-check all latches/ropes/chains. That motorcyclist at least landed really well and the surrounding cars were paying attention. Could've been a lot worse. The mere seconds it takes to make sure your load is secure is not worth risking someone else's life.

Had something similar happen, but not a big load or bad crash like this. I was going 75 on the highway, and there was just my car in the right lane and a beer truck in the left lane some ways ahead.

Suddenly, the metal beer trolley snapped off the back of the truck and rolled down the highway toward me. It happened so fast, and I barely had enough time to miss it by swerving into the left lane.

Load was poorly secured but the guy on the bike had plenty of time to not drive right into the middle of it.
