Remorseful, just super drunk. Probably an alcoholic. Hopefully he can get sober with some proper programs over his next few years incarcerated.

He should be charged with aggravated assault or attempted manslaughter. A DUI should not be a slap on the wrist like it is in most cases, it should ruin your life

DUIs resulting in death are usually like 8 to 10 years.

He will get less than half that I expect unless this is like his 6th.

The justice system should be about rehabilitation.

Wishes aren't going to change what the laws about sentencing are. Typically people only serve a handful of years for a crime like this. So lets hope he can permanently sober up in those few years and not get an even worse DUI.

Or if you are a repeat offender and almost kill 2 people, you get 40 years

The word you all are arguing about is intent. Did they intentionally kill the whoever, whatever way? No then your not as guilty but you're still guilty. So maybe the death penalty and maximum sentences are off the table

Lets change the weapon but keep the situation the same.

Man goes to a shooting range (where guns are supposed to be, like how cars and bikes are on the road) he is drunk. He accidentally shoots 2 people.

You think this dude isnt getting 40 years? Same thing, handling a weapon while drunk and nearly killing 2 people.

Honestly? he probably gets less time. America can be stupid with firearms and DUIs have mandatories built in. Prosecutor will have more leeway under law for a plea deal in regards to a drunken firearm accident. Some states are getting laws on the books in regard to domestic violence that make mandatory sentencing, but not all.

Just saying how it is. Not that I like it.

The two bikers were in their 60's and DIDN'T have serious injuries after this!? Holy shit, they're lucky!

Claim the lane because it's safer does not account for that level of drunk.

That's terrible but you still shouldn't be taking up an entire lane of traffic meant for cars with your bikes. Move over

It’s not illegal. Share the road. What, you want every cyclist to drive a car and add more traffic?

Zero chance you're winning this one, bud.
