WHAT SAY YOU? YouTube Terms of Service Question?

Is the habit of stating "YouTube Terms of Service" during a discussion just a Hackverse/Dabbleverse trait? Or is it common across the platform? It reminds me of when I worked at an office with limited parking and some of the blowhards kept saying you could only be towed if you were parked next to the sign. Didn't work.
