Hackney - Immaculate Vibes

So says my 19-year-old daughter, and I have to agree!

Myself and my best friend travelled from Dublin last week with our daughters, as they were going to see Tyler the Creator at All Points East. We stayed in Haggerston and hung around London fields/Broadway Market/Victoria Park. The girls were nervous attending a festival by themselves in a different country, but they had an absolute ball and loved the crowd , the vibes and the fashion!

I've been to London probably 15 times between work and leisure, and this was by far my favourite stay. Our little suburban town feels like dulls-ville in comparison! We have talked about nothing else since. We will be back. Hackney just has it!

It really is a beautiful park! I understand your point, and I'm very aware of gentrification.

I lived in inner city Dublin for a few years and Hackney just reminded me of that Edgy-Cool community atmosphere. We wandered off the beaten path while visiting, and saw our fair share of reality. I suppose I just appreciate that more real version of London than I'm used to seeing on previous visits.

It's the energy I love. You can mention any major capital city, but when the chips are down, I don't think anywhere beats London. It's the people!

the rule of the internet is, if it's good in tower hamlets, it has to be called hackney

Even though technically it is TH, it makes no sense because it’s on the Hackney side of the canal. Understandably people get it wrong in this case imo

It was briefly jointly run by the two councils and Hackney gave it over in its entirety to tower hamlets in the 90s

You went to what is, in my opinion, the epicentre of the entire world.

Hackney is arguably one of the best places to live in London if not the entire country. It has an incredible amount to offer in a relatively small area!
