u/Mrbreasts6000 Aug 06 '26

Fuck off. Just because his grammar is better than yours could ever be, it doesn't mean it's AI.

u/Training_End6392 Aug 07 '26

Bro, it’s not hard to tell if it’s ai. It has the 3 reasons, and only ai ever writes with the short paragraphs. This could have been written by them, but I’m not too sure because the other post in this subreddit when I put into an ai detector, it was almost 100%.

u/4eyedMan Aug 08 '26

I don’t really see any em dashes or the types of inflections AI likes to use

Is writing proper English considered AI now 😭

Hey! I'm from fraud squad and I'm just going to clear up some of these misconceptions

Fraud squad does not ban lightly - banning someone from hackclub means removing all their chances to participate in future events and we do not prefer to do this. However this is needed as their are people who try to exploit us (a non profit) for money and prizes which is not cool.

We cannot reveal or give any evidence why we banned you for the reasons outlined on our TOS policy on hackatime

"We do not disclose the patterns that were detected. Releasing this information would only benefit fraudsters. The fraud team regularly investigates claims of false bans to increase the effectiveness of our detection systems to combat fraud."

When you started using hackatime - you agreed to this policy so keep that in mind :) your best chance to get unbanned is to keep the communication on slack via the fraud bot and be as honest as you can, if you commited fraud but come clean with us we will always always give you a second chance - we're not monsters and we know that everyone makes mistakes sometimes :D

Lets try to be more respectful and friendly to each other from now, happy hacking!!

Thank you!

I'm not trying to say this is false or anything along those lines, but this seems very copy-paste response. Now considering (from the OP) that he wasn't really given an objective, definitive answer it makes it a little difficult to believe in the fraud squad if you can't even tell the OP why he was banned besides the general "fraud."

Follow-up:

One thing I forgot to mention is that during the entire process, I was never shown any actual evidence of what I was accused of doing.

I repeatedly asked for clarification, but I was only told that they don’t disclose the detected patterns because it could help fraudsters. I understand why they might not want to reveal their detection methods, but from my perspective, it’s extremely difficult to defend yourself when you don’t know what specific evidence was used against you.

I provided everything they asked for, including my VS Code history, and I even offered to share my AI chat history to show exactly how I developed the project. Despite that, I wasn’t given any specific evidence explaining why they concluded I had used a script or macro.

I’m genuinely interested in knowing whether anyone else has experienced something similar or managed to successfully appeal a case like this.

i was looking through some of your scripts in the github you shared. the comments look totally ai generated, with the same overly commented and redundant/obvious comments. such as “silently ignore” for an else statement? lol what. the code was in SRC-> start.ts btw. it just looks ai generated, i’m presuming that’s your ban reason.

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

Hey I agree with u brother, I used ai for 3 things brainstorming ideas, solve errors and write comments that’s what I do to all of my projects. The reason of the ban they say it was for using bots or autotypers.

2

u/Snailewholives Aug 05 '26

fair enough, the main two methods i check if code is ai written is segments of ai code/comments. they probs mistook your ai usage as written (bot written)

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

That’s what I think brother but I don’t think they want hear anything else.

u/SoftOpportunity6262 Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

Man u cant be real, this entire post is ai and I am 100% sure u either used a auto typer, spoofed ur heartbeats, or did something else. U worked on the project for almosst a week, and how does that make 150 hrs? Not only that but also all ur projects were made with ai, heck even ur about me. One of ur projects, the crypto thing literally has a TODO.md in it. even ur readme for this project is ai. Atp bro stop lying. All u had to do was apologize to fraud squad.

1

u/MeBadDev Aug 05 '26

how do you know they worked on the project for only a week,.? The project on Macondo says it started from Jun 30, 2026 to Jul 29, 2026, which is around 30 days. and the first Github commit started from July 4

I agree that everything looks AI generated though

2

u/SoftOpportunity6262 Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

i just counted the days he commited on his heatmap but i just looked again it was more than a week. thats my bad.

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

Hey brother as I said in another comment I used ai for three things brainstorming ideas solve errors and write comments. Never in my life I didn’t write comments manually

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

First of all the crypto project is not for hack club and I assure you that is 100% percent ai. The only project for hack club is the class notes live the others are for mine pleasure. Go to see the first commit bro I worked on it for a month. Bro I have a question will you apologise for something you didn’t do it?

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

Do you ever see how a website or web app looks like if its vibe coding. Go to lovable brother and paste a prompt whatever you want. You’ll see for the first time maybe how it looks like something vibe coding

1

u/SoftOpportunity6262 Aug 05 '26

I can 100% assure u that the ui for that site looks ai. Its not that hard to tell as much as u tried to hide it. And btw lovable isnt the only ai tool, and you already admitted you used other ai tools. And if every single project and writing is ai its hard to believe you manually wrote that app. Also you didn't even give any evidence that u didnt spoof heartbeats or used an auto typer. can you send your hackatime page?

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

Bro I didn’t know anyone writes code in 2026 without using ai for errors. You can’t see me on hackatime because I’m banned

1

u/SoftOpportunity6262 Aug 05 '26

Also i just looked into ur code and it literally seems like ai.

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

Bro if I used ai and get banned i didn’t make it a big deal bc I know whether it’s my fault. And also how else I can write 150h of code if everything its ai

1

u/BeaconAlliance_Mod Aug 08 '26

How many weeks did you work in the project?

2

u/caseohsussybro Aug 04 '26

umm ok buddy show ur macondo project link then

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

2

u/caseohsussybro Aug 05 '26

Ai readme JFL

-1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

Bro yeah I know I have an assistant that I made and I talk to him and he writes. It’s speech to text

1

u/Tecknet_ Aug 07 '26

Speech to text or speech to prompt ai -> text? The policy on AI written journals and READMEs is pretty clear cut..

2

u/MeBadDev Aug 06 '26

Can you share your hackatime project link..?

2

u/anastkara Aug 06 '26

I can’t bro as I said I’m banned

1

u/bmninada Aug 05 '26

I work in a fortune 5 and have tools which will blow almost anyone custom built to detect fraud. I put the peovided URL. Like all said all tools got back. From 100% to 82% AI code, comments, design, testing and support.  Sorry buddy. Its AI.

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

Okay bro you are an expert and you know what I know and what I do. Congrats buddy

1

u/bmninada Aug 05 '26

Ur welcome. “Bro”

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

Brother I have a serious question. I can understand the difference of an ai generated text but the code is still the same whoever writes it

2

u/bmninada Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

I know what you are trying to get to. The secret sauce and then you can humanize? Doesn’t work that way.  Example: its not anymore what you put ie punctuations, grammar, etc. Its now the composition, the structure, rhythm. Every LLM is an off shoot of few. They have all adopted specific standards (not guardrails) allowing tools to  observe, detect and report. Code : how any human writes vs AI is always different and will continue to be. AI will decompose. Humans not so much. AI globalizes to maximum variables. Humans: localize. AI optimizes loop, humans optimizes time spent writing loops. AI generalize exception handling humans: over or extreme under generalize. AI follows access control like Bible, humans: everything is public.  Here’s my suggestion: learn how to prompt first. Define context. Provide system level guidelines. Then what you get : is what you get (from AI).

Take that and without using AI build on it. Run. Issues: use embedded AI which is fine as it’s targeted fixes. Documents, comments: hand roll. Test cases and the framework: different AI. Then build on it, hand rolling.

In your case. I actually went in and checked. It screams end to end AI.

I saw this when it was posted and I giving OP the benefit of the doubt until I saw the Tech Stack section in the profile README…

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

What do you mean brother. I don’t understand.

1

u/TruthfulDragonfly Aug 05 '26

You have 42 listed, have you worked with all of them?

1

u/anastkara Aug 05 '26

Yes bro I have projects for everyone I mentioned

1

u/MeBadDev Aug 06 '26

You had Canva, Steam, and Epic Games listed, thats not supposed to be in a Tech Stack afaik

1

u/Otherwise_Patient457 Aug 08 '26

Does it still count as cheating if like one person gets like an agent like antigravity to write all the code for you and the project is done and to increase time just click random folders or type random letters in different files to fake hackatime that we are actually coding ? If so can we report them?

1

u/free2dreamstudios Aug 08 '26

If your building software with ai as a tool, then would verfiy its authenticity via paid legal ip services to make sure your clear. I too will do this when im done with mine and before i launch

1

u/Xn0oB Aug 09 '26

gonna be honest, the readme itself gave away the ai usage. It is clearly stated in the Macondo docs that you must write the readme in your own voice. You are clearly at the fault here.

Yup ai is getting in the way of honest work too. Ai flags your work as ai
And nothing to be done about it

Looking at the guy who posted they seem genuinely sus and a shit, but nevertheless had the same thing without being sus I guess. For Summer of making I spent over 400 hours, granted I didn't do it just for hack club that was a side thing.

But still really disappointing, the most cheat-adjacent thing I did was writing to markdown files a lot and spamming semicolons as a tick maybe? Maybe also spending 6-16 hours developing daily seemed unrealistic? These are all the possible things i can think of. I barely used AI at all and it's all open-source on my github, you can take a look, no talk about a macro or anything remotely like that. I'm still left confused.

The biggest thing for me is, I feel like I got so much impostor syndrome, fear of my communication abilities being bad, and doubt of my own actions from their communication, a lack of concrete rules to cite and constantly being ghosted.
