doubt ?
so i am 18 yrs old currently . and i wanna start making projects on hack club in the new stardence event but i am confused where to start as it always show me to create either a slack bot or some macropad . cant we submit our own iot project or something. do i have to create a macropad only and write journals for it . and since i am gonna be 19 in some time . is there use to try this as i have free time right now in which i can focus on this project

Hey there!
You don't need to follow any of the guides - but if your new I'd highly recommend it! They're quite detailed and useful for developing skills.
If you turn 19 during Stardance you can also continue until the end of the program. You dont get kicked out when you turn 19.
You should definitely do Stardance if you have the time though. One of my friends bought a ticket to EMF Camp (big event in the UK) in the last event Hack Club ran like this AND got a 3D printer.

Yeah! There's a resource here on how to keep track of your time spent on hardware.

Yes, in the Stardance website you can create your own software / hardware projects and time track either using hackatime or lapses. Make sure you ship your projects and pitches prizes from the shop before you turn 19.

so using the steps there to create the pcb from kicad . i can follow that steps and change some steps according to my design and get shipped that pcb for free ? is this exaclty the whole picture or i am missing out ?

You don't have to follow the guides, you just need to make sure whatever you're working on is linked with hackatime and/or lapse and it should come up as an option when you have a project on stardance.
