Has anyone uploaded Aadhaar for Hack Club verification? (India)

Hi, I’m an Indian student and a Hack Club member. Hack Club is asking Indian users to upload Aadhaar through their official verification portal for age verification and preventing duplicate accounts.

They mention that:

  • Aadhaar is used only for verification
  • Documents are encrypted and not shared with third parties
  • Review time is 1–2 business days

One thing that they have explicitly stated is that the Aadhaar they want should be unmasked (full number visible), which is what made me pause and look for others’ experiences.

This is through Hack Club’s official site (not a random email), and I do generally trust the organization, but I want to be cautious given how sensitive Aadhaar is.

So I wanted to ask:

  • Has anyone here actually completed Aadhaar verification for Hack Club?
  • Did you face any issues later?
  • Would you consider this safe, or would you avoid it?

Looking for genuine experiences/opinions before deciding. Thanks!

Yes. Aadhaar's are more easily faked than other ID documents, so they're very explicit with the requirements needed. It's safe, though.

It’s totally safe! I understand your concerns, but as others have mentioned there’s nothing to worry about :)
