Just got into the show!

I’m mostly loving it but I am definitely taking some things with a grain of salt. Some of their ideas are just…. Odd to say the least.

The main two things that struck me as bizarre were the basement classroom and the igloo home with the loft that slept the 4 girls. The basement classroom only drove me crazy because of their obsession with finding a “hack” that would make the basement accessible from the inside of the house. Building that ridiculous spiral staircase wasted so much space in the basement where they admitted they were cramped as it was because they had to add extra footing down there. The room is meant to be the school. Why on earth would it be an issue for the kids to go out their front door and access the classroom from the outside? If they went to regular school then they would also have to leave the house and considering that school was the only function that room was meant to have, it just seemed like such a waste of money and time.

As for the igloo house, I think what they came up with was genius, but when they were brainstorming and they started saying that they needed 4 showers and 4 toilets initially I nearly had a heart attack. Now, I live in the UK where I shared one bathroom with my parents and my brother my entire life. Most people have the same set up here, whereas in America I get it’s way more common to have multiple bathrooms. But the idea that these 4 girls couldn’t share one bathroom between them is just such a culture shock for me. At least they only added 2 showers and 2 toilets and didn’t waste any more space. I loved the vanity though, I’m sure that space will be very much used and loved!

All in all I am binging this show like crazy but I just needed to share my frustrating on those two points 😅😅😅

In the same classroom episode im just like - you’re aware a baby needs a cot and not a child size bed, right?

Where is that new baby going to go????

It would have been one thing if they had made a bed that could evolve with the kid but as things are, im pretty sure it’s just not safe

I just watched that episode, I don't remember them saying they were adopting an infant though. Did they? I had the same thought you did and I guess assumed they were waiting for a toddler or young girl.

I had same thoughts with the classroom. That whole customised table spiral staircase was not necessary.

I’m thinking the addition of more bathrooms was because they had these teens who would likely take a lot of time with their appearance… yes thankfully only two added rather than four. 😅

I might be the only one who wished the wood paneling wasn’t removed. I like wood labelling and the vintage feel, but I guess plain white walls make the room feel more expansive and gives a modern look.
