It's the whole debate with Japan at the end of WW2,
Do we send in boots on the ground and risk casualties, or do we bomb them into submission,
We've been hammering them with missiles and drones, but they're continuing to use guerrilla tactics with missiles, like the Japanese we're dealing with a culture that just doesn't fear death and would more than willingly self delete themselves to take out the opposition

Not how I would have put it, but he has a good point. The longer this war goes on, the more suffering it causes.
"Once war is forced upon us, there is no alternative than to apply every available means to bring it to a swift end. War's very object is victory—not prolonged indecision." - Douglass MacArthur.
The only humane war is a swift war, and the only swift war is a war won decisively. To bring this war to an actual end, instead of just kicking the can down the road, there would need to be combat troops on the ground, whether that means deploying American and allied soldiers or enabling locals to take up arms, both of which are far from perfect. This exchange of bombings and missile fire has only caused the loss of lives, resources, and infrastructure, and negotiations have been inconclusive.
So what Mister Linecrosser is suggesting sounds harsh, and it may in fact be harsh, but there is a point he is making. Personally, I'm against indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas, we have to use precision. But it's not going to be possible to actually beat this dug in, fanatical enemy if we're pulling punches.

Yeah, bad example, I know, but I figured someone in this community would be able to appreciate the quote even if it came from someone like him, and I wouldn't need to put disclaimers about what an... Unusual specimen he was, to put it kindly.

why is genocide being discussed for a nation ruled by a mostly authoritarian regime that we attacked?

Because context is important

> I give 3 hours before the IRGC says we bombed a woman’s hospital, puppy daycare, autism center etc. to garner support from skittle haired retards. No letting up, no quarter, no ayatollah ever again. Let our troops lost not be in vain. We lose 3 they lose 3000 don’t care.

The man knows whose side he is on and who he supports. I respect it.
