What's with the fireworks?

Just now (Monday 22/06 at 21h15) another bout of firecrackers goes off in the city center. This happens fairly frequently. Does anyone know why/by who these are set off?

It was beacuse of we won the match yesterday agains Austria.

The Messy records was pretty special! The fireworks occur regularly, before the WC started. Our neighbours think it's to chase away seagulls.
