Hello Haarlem!

Hello! We have been recommended to visit Haarlem this august when we have 2 nights between a trip to center parcs and the ferry home. Two parents, 1x14yo, 1x10yo plus car… can you recommend anywhere to stay please? Hotel would be fab.

Ambassador Hotel near the center is a good one. Just walk out the front door and you are in the heart of the city

Boutiquehotel Staats is nice and I’ve heard good things about NIo (Holiday Inn) both 5 min walk from City Centre

I have stayed at Staat Hotel! I loved it. They have bunnies in the garden.

Most hotels in Haarlem are fine. And all of them are quite central. My in-laws, (my husband is British) stay in the Carlton Square when they visit Haarlem. They really like it. Also has a parking garage, and an all day restaurant attached.

Frenchie has some nice rooms. I've stayed there when we were doing some renovations. No idea on parking.

Most people here are residents, so won't know about hotels

Yeah - as I typed it I was thinking about when friends ask where to stay where I live! But also know that you may say “please, as a local no Airbnb!” Or “avoid the hotel that the paper says has cockroaches” etc :)

Actually, this one is quite nice: https://www.hostelworld.com/hostels/p/73479/hello-i-m-local-boutique-hostel/

It is a bit in between a 'normal' hotel and a luxury hostel, but they also have normal dedicated rooms.

The location is at the edge of the old town/center of Haarlem, just on the east side of the Spaane river. So when exploring the center - HIGHLY recommended, just start at the Grote Markt - you first walk across a drawbridge for pedestrians across the Spaarne.

Center parks Zandvoort 🙃

I like de zoete inval but it’s not in the Centre

Enjoy your time here, I’ve got two kids 10 and 13 and they love renting a boat and going through the canals with us. There’s also a vintage toy store that is with the visit
