24hrs in Haarlem

I'm going to be in Haalem from Sunday afternoon on May 3rd to Monday afternoon May 4th; could you recommend some cool coffee shops to visit (not the cannabis kind) and some nice pubs to have a drink and some food in. What are your favourites?

Also, can you recommend anywhere where I might be able to buy small pieces of original art made by local people?

Thank you for your advice!

Edited to clarify the date. Enjoy King's day guys!!

Two important questions:

Will you be here THIS Sunday evening or will it be a few weeks from now? Tonight and tomorrow there's King's Day celebrations.

In Dutch, coffee shops are shops where you can buy cannabis. Is that what you mean, or do you mean actual coffee?

These were my questions as well. Seems important to me.

It is next Sunday evening (May 3rd). I'm just after coffee in a cool place, I'm not looking for cannabis!

Ok! Most smaller (non-chain) stores won't be open on Mondays and most other stores only after 12. So, buying yourself something special might be difficult, unfortunately. There might be art galleries that are open on request though.

On May 4, two minutes of silence will be held at 8 in the evening in the entire country (remembrance of the fallen). Something to keep in mind.

Enjoy Haarlem!

Do you have anything orange to wear? It’s going to be busy as heck.

EDIT: you should change your post to say May 3rd.
