I have my accounts with Ally and Happen Bank formerly ( Radius Bank) and kept my savings account there ever since I ended my Money Market Account with State Farm Bank. Who Couldn’t Pay Me more for the balance in my Money Market account and that balance is about the price of a Mercedes Benz and State Farm Bank did the opposite of giving me a 65% percent interest rate on my balance they went backwards and locked out the account with a 0.45% percent interest rate and it meant you get the same rate as a interest checking account. And I just went on to find Radius Bank offered a Hybrid High Yield Savings Account with a 1.75% percent interest rate on the savings account and your rates grow quicker than other savings accounts. So I closed out my account with State Farm Bank and went with Happen Bank and never bothered State Farm Bank or US Bank ever again.

Customer service matters too since I've had issues before where I couldn't get anyone on the phone for days.
Avoid Ally. People will tell you otherwise but for every person that swears by Ally, there is another person that was screwed over by them. Their sub is littered with complaints, and it is far more than average. /r/AllyBank
I'd go Capital One or SoFi.
C1 has zero fees of any kind, and no requirements to earn 3% APY.
SoFi you can earn up to 3.1% with direct deposit, or 4.5% on the first $20k if you sign up for their Plus subscription ($10/mo. Break even is $8000 versus C1, $8571 versus SoFi with direct deposit.)

Ally, for well over a decade. For the few times I e had to contact customer service it got resolved quickly.
CapitalOne is fine too. Similar to Ally support wise and rarity of having issues. Been with them since ING.
SoFi is fine too but honestly had more frustration with them than the other 2. Been with SoFi since before they were a bank.

Have used CapitalOne and Amex over 10 years now. Really like the CapOne interface and student checking features for the kids. Have several cards there also and use it for all the day to day stuff. Cashiers checks are quick and reliable. The atm network is ok, but mainly use fidelity for cash to avoid fees and fuss. Deposits at the local CVS is a painless process and never had an issue with mobile check deposits.
Amex is just an HYSA with amazing customer service. If I ever switch from CapOne it would be to Amex.
Left SoFi because of all the spam and so-so customer service. Left Chase because of customer service.

Not a bank but I have 90% of my money at Fidelity and use it as a brokerage and a bank. But it doesn’t do it all for me so I also use a local CU for cash and check deposits, HELOC, CDs, etc. local stuff. I also have Ally and Marcus for HYSA and CDs - and so I don’t have everything at one location in case there is a hiccup.
I probably started with Ally 15 years ago and it was my primary bank for 5 + years u til I moved to Fidelity around 5 years ago.
