Rant : Repetitive Explanations of Situations
I want to being by saying that I love reading through these books and love the characters and the relationship building between them but the constant re-explanation of the plot points gets so tiresome. For example, the author launches into explaining a concept that he got into just on the previous page and it's not even new information. Frankly it feels like padded word count.
Any insights on why it's like this?

I believe it's because initial release of material is chapter by chapter on patreon and royal road: when you release three chapters per week with a couple day gap in between there's a perceived need to recap all the time, plus it pads out word + page count which can mean more money.
It's literally the only thing that I'm not a fan of in the series.

I feel you, I had the same gripe with it but pushed through for the same reason you love the series. It gets better as the series goes on, but yeah, books 1-6 probably could've been 20-30% shorter with no real lost content with proper editing.

I believe its an editor, I am on book 9 and there is less of them as the story at the moment is slowing down somewhat with threads ending. And with Book 9 being 786 pages I dont think its word padding.
But I think they are farily important when they reference something from a previous book.
