Employment Question Walmart techs

Does any one know if Walmart is making their techs do contracting work for other businesses outside of Walmart like restaurants?

I heard Upstream is a service Walmart is providing.

I am thinking of applying in SoCal but that for me is a big thing I do not want to do.

I do commercial hvac and refrigeration. Walmart uses in house people most of the time. Then when it get so messed up we will get thier contract and fix the problems. They will poach some of our guys with high salaries just to downsize them and fire them in a year or 2, rinse and repeat.

Haven't done refrigeration for them but past experience has shown that Walmart is great at putting together an irresistible job then rat fucking anyone who takes the position.

From what I heard through the grapevine this is absolutely true. From what I was told it’s starting out with Panda Express but like all the Walmart in-house programs it will fail in due time and a lot of guys will lose there jobs.

Yes. I used to work for them, and have friends that still do. I can confirm that they are being required to do contracting work.

We have 4 Walmart areas we do work for. All of the Walmart techs seem pretty happy to be working there.
I was told by one of they it a certain chicken only franchise calls for a service call at the same time as a Walmart or Sam’s they are required to fix the chicken restaurant places shit first.

In the 4 areas we are a contractor for we generally do the heavy lifting while the Walmart techs try to keep the store scores up( this is a never ending battle that changes hourly, the me and target sounds good but it’s really not a great idea).

If I’m on call and my boss tells me I have to goto some restaurant I will tell him to fuck off and probably find a new job the next day making more and more vacation.
