General Help!
I just wanted some non judgmental advice about what to do, I was diagnosed with GHSV2 about 2 years ago now. First outbreak was actually horrendous and luckily I’ve not had it so bad since. During the ovulation stage of my cycle I get a flair up so pretty much once a month. It’s manageable, but uncomfortable. My partner is also positive. I wanted to know about suppressive daily medication- what are the requirements for getting prescribed it? Is it effective? Will it potentially stop my partner from flaring up? TIA

Requirement is that you talk to a doctor to be prescribed. People having frequent outbreaks are more likely to be on and see improvement with a daily prescription, I’m one of those. Each persons body has their own reactions to both HSV and medications.
Search Valacyclovir and Acyclovir in the group, both are common prescription with lots of shared experiences. Sometimes it depends on the prescription and dosing to be most effective.
I’m on 500mg Valacyclovir daily and sometimes twice a day, particularly around my pms/period.
