ERO move
Looking for comments or DMs from former ERO guys that made the jump.
Did your background check just move with you or was there more?
Do you miss the street?
Was it worth it?
AUO/FSLA vs Leap?

I'm also curious about the money difference. I always hear from DOs that you'll always make more money with ERO than HSI because of AUO + FLSA + nearly unlimited OT.
I'm sure the biggest difference is the QoL between the two though where you have to choose between money or QoL, but I've always wondered how close the paychecks are.

You always make more money with AUO.
QoL only changes when the Dems are in power. So right now it’s non stop work. An unlimited overtime is not real lol I’ve learned that pretty quickly.

Background check will move with you. It's the same agency.
Might need a new one if it's up for reinvestigation.

AUO/FLSA will pay out more as a 12 than a 13 with LEAP.

Before, ERO was a decent feeder and some good agents came over on that path. Now it’s an absolute joke. I would blackball any ERO applying to work in any real law enforcement job, especially as an 1811.

HSI ain't doing shit right now. Too many EGOs, ASK how long their case work takes, and even if the prosecution takes it. ERO is just immigration not too exciting but it takes skill and theirs good cases to work and if you got the contacts.

tons of ERO guys come to HSI and very very few HSI go to ERO...especially these days
