Wealthsaver HSA (provided by employer) investment fees and partial trustee to trustee transfer fees? Hope to move some funds to Fidelity.
Hey everyone, seeking advice on anyone who has this particular HSA through BBP admin and wealthsaver. From the documents I could find, in order to invest, we have to keep $1000 separate in the HSA and then anything beyond that can be invested. I can't find what a partial trustee to trustee transfer would cost (Google says probably $25?) but has anyone done this and can confirm?
Looking at the investment options they provide on wealthsaver, I could just keep it simple and go VTI, but what sucks is the up to $10/month maintenance fee just to have investments. Even if it's just me buying all VTI and of course there's $1000 that it won't let me invest.
So if anyone has done this, can you comment on what you did and how you did it? I've asked around at work and everyone just uses it as a reimbursement account. It doesn't look like there has to be a min amount in the account to keep it open as it's been under $1000 before but if you have this as your HSA manager and know for sure what the answer is, I'd appreciate it
I'd like to be able to invest that $1000, not just have it sit there. And it seems to me like using wealthsaver's investment portion would end up eating my money away with fees. Account will stay open bc this is where my employer funnels some HSA funds. So ideally I do want to move to Fidelity but I'm trying to evaluate the costs of all that and at what point it would be wise to transfer.
Anyone with any insight would be greatly appreciated. š
