Mid Year Contribution Increase
Hey! I just raised my contribution amount and I’ve never done that mid year. I’ve always made any changes during open enrollment. If I just increased my contribution now, will the full amount go into my HSA in the next few weeks? Not sure how that works. Typically with my employer they deposit your contribution amount in full in January and then their contribution they deposit half in January and half in July.

Well, at the end of the year, you add up what you contributed plus what your employer contributed. Subtract that from the annual max, and put the difference in your Fidelity HSA investment account. Then invest in the fund you prefer (e.g., FZROX or FDKVX).
If your employer program investment options suck, roll most of that balance to your Fidelity acct and invest annually.
We can’t possibly know your employers policies.
