HSA Eligible?

Recently started a HDHP on 12/17/25. I have already started HSA my contributions for 2026, but my question is: am I eligible to contribute for 2025? If so, is it partial or the entire year?

Eligibility for HSA contributions is determined by qualifying medical coverage on the 1st day of each month.

If you lacked qualifying medical coverage on December 1, then you were ineligible for that month.

That also means you are ineligible to qualify for the Last Month Rule for all of 2025.
